Jenn (jenntendo64) | 56 comments Thinking about going with Philippa Gregory for this one! She has a few I haven’t read yet.

There’s also Terry Pratchett I think? Surely he has written more than 20!

message 3: by Jenni (new)

Jenni (jennigray) | 29 comments Stephen King
Terry Pratchett
Dean Koontz
Agatha Christie
Isaac Asimov
R.L. Stine

Mary Leigh Brown | 2 comments Kristin Hannah

message 13: by Mary (new)

Mary Taylor | 8 comments Alexander McCall Smith, have not read his latest Ladies Detective one

message 16: by Rachel (new)

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 643 comments Jodi Picoult and Nicholas Sparks both have just over 20 books.

message 17: by Amy J. (new)

Amy J. | 74 comments Atwood should count here since they specify 20 books not 20 novels. "Since 1961, she has published 17 books of poetry, 16 novels, 10 books of non-fiction, eight collections of short fiction, eight children's books, and one graphic novel, as well as a number of small press editions in poetry and fiction."

message 18: by Mary Beth (new)

Mary Beth (mary-beth-c) | 23 comments Just to note, you really can't depend on Goodreads to give you a quick accurate number of how many books someone has written, especially if you don't think a single ebook short story or the foreword to someone else's book should "count" toward that number. Goodreads also sometimes mistakenly counts translations as separate works. (Popsugar seems to have made some errors along these lines, as far as their suggestions go.)

message 19: by Ruth (new)

Ruth York | 31 comments I'll read one of the few left by Mercedes Lackey that I haven't read yet. Probably will finally start her Hunter series.

Ellie (patchworkbunny) | 1756 comments Mary Beth wrote: "Goodreads also sometimes mistakenly counts translations as separate works...."

This is down to the way users have added them (as distinct works rather than adding another edition). When I spot stray editions I always combine them with the main listing, but as someone who only speaks English it's sometimes hard for me to be 100% certain a translation is the same book.

message 21: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 5 comments Jo Nesbo could be a good one for those still going through the Harry Hole series. Headhunters was also really good (standalone)

message 23: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Flores (disneywitch22) | 34 comments I was going to go with Stephen King but I’m just finding out that Holly Black has written more then 20. I think Cassandra Clare also fits this category as well.

message 25: by Piajensen13 (new)

Piajensen13 | 52 comments I been wanting to read something by Douglas Preston. He has written more than 20 books (or co-written) so I might use him for this prompt.

message 26: by Tania (new)

Tania | 678 comments Wilbur Smith, I love his Courtneys of Africa series (I think they are just under the count for the more than 20 in a series prompt, stopping at 18)

John Sandford, author of the Prey series (which makes the cut for series of more than 20 books, at 31)

Jean Plaidy, whose real name was Eleanor Alice Burford/Mrs. George Percival Hibbert, and who is the same person as Victoria Holt and Philippa Carr - as Plaidy she wrote a lot on the Tudor family, similar to Philippa Gregory

message 27: by Brandon (new)

Brandon Harbeke | 696 comments Timothy Zahn would work for this prompt.

message 29: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Garza (bastet009) | 6 comments Eva Pohler - Not as prolific, but she was one of my Lit professors and she's a super awesome person!

message 31: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan (notphonetic) | 53 comments Seanan McGuire who has over 20 in her three main series WITHOUT pointing out that she is also Mira Grant

message 32: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 68 comments I’ve got a few options for this:

Philippa Gregory (Author)
Bernard Cornwell
William Boyd
Graham Greene
Philip Kerr
Ken Follett
Sebastian Faulks - if you include books where he is the editor
Alan Furst

message 33: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseyannek) Julian Barnes would work for this.

message 34: by Monica (new)

Monica (booksarelove) | 121 comments Don't forget about Mary Higgins Clark.

message 35: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (mrshurd) | 33 comments I am going to do either a Stephen King or an Anne Rice.

message 36: by dalex (new)

dalex (912dalex) Alicia wrote: "Alexander McCall Smith
Louise Penny"

I think Louise Penny only has 15.

message 38: by Krissy (new)

Krissy (krissyreadings) | 2 comments If anyone is a romance reader Christina Lauren will publish their 20th full length novel next year. If we are counting 0.5 novels/novellas then they have over 20 published works already

message 42: by Jen W. (last edited Dec 02, 2019 11:02AM) (new)

Jen W. (piratenami) | 517 comments These fantasy/sci fi authors should work, too:

Lois McMaster Bujold
Tanya Huff
Patricia A. McKillip

message 43: by Rachael (new)

Rachael | 136 comments David Eddings I believe has over 20, and I really highly recommend his Belgariad/Mallorean series for those who love fantasy. Some of his early works were non-fantasy, but I can't remember which genre they actually were!

message 44: by Darci (last edited Dec 04, 2019 05:14PM) (new)

Darci Day | 164 comments Stuart M. Kaminsky

I'm going to go with Bullet for a Star.

message 45: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 11 comments Definitely going with Beth Kephart for this one!

message 46: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Beaver | 3 comments I'll read something by Sarra Cannon for this prompt. Many indie authors are very prolific writers.

message 47: by SadieReadsAgain (new)

SadieReadsAgain (sadiestartsagain) | 767 comments Does Toni Morrison count? Trying to figure this out - 11 novels, 6 children's books, then non-fiction and plays...so that must take it over 20.

If so, I'm reading The Bluest Eye

message 49: by Shannon (new)

Shannon | 552 comments I'll probably read something by Dick Francis--he's one of my go-to authors when I want a good suspense novel.

message 50: by Andi (new)

Andi N. | 2 comments Elin Hilderbrand
