That works! The description refers to both Atlantis and Atlanteans.
Notice I went easy on you this time, Dee - no nonfiction required!

And will gods of alabama by Joshilynn Jackson work for option 3, gods being the word found in the song?

You don't need pre-approval for books that clearly meet the task requirement, such as a title with a word that matches a word in the song lyrics.

Sorry, this will not work - there's no mention of the city of Atlantis in the title or the GR description. From your reference, it sounds as if they're simply comparing UBAR to Atlantis.

That's fine I'll just finish the book then and use the ones I'd chosen before which I know will work.

Option 2: The Giver by Lois Lowry Science Fiction > Dystopia

I'll take it, based on the combination of the title and the description.

Elizabeth wrote: "Hi! I'm wondering if Rogue Wave will work for Option 1. It's about the descendants of people from Atlantis, so I'm not sure if they are still technically Atlanteans.
Thanks!"
That works - the description talks about being descendants and also about the evil that destroyed Atlantis.

The lost island of Atlantis was first discussed in Plato's work Timaeus. According to much of the mythology surrounding Atlantis, it was part of the domain of Poseidon.
For this task, you will read two books, from two different options. No book with the genre "kids" or "childrens" on its main page may be used for this task.
REQUIRED: State the options you chose when you post.
1. Read a book about Atlantis or Atlanteans. The "Atlantis connection" must be evident from the book's main page (description, metadata, etc.) "Close" doesn't work - i.e., Atlantia, Atlanta, etc.
These lists may give you some ideas: The Atlanteans; Best Books on Atlantis; Serious Books on Plato's Atlantis
2. Atlantis was often thought of as a utopia. Since one person's utopia is another person's dystopia, read a book with the genre "utopia" or "dystopia" on its main page. The genre may be stand alone or embedded.
3. Read a book the title or subtitle of which contains a word that matches exactly a word of 4 or more letters from the lyrics of Donovan's song Atlantis. You can find the lyrics
here. The word must match exactly - no variation accepted.
REQUIRED: Identify the matching word when you post.
