Pulp Magazine Authors and Literature Fans discussion

I'd like to suggest Doc Wilde and The Frogs of Doom for our October group read. If we want to go with two reads, then The October Country would be my choice for a 2nd book.

Still haven't gotten around to reading half the Bradbury that I'd like to. I think I might take you up on The October Country.

Or we could do Doc Wilde in November, or December as Werner suggested, and do The October Country for October.

Tim's suggestion sounds good to me. I've read The October Country, so I can readily take part in discussing it. And if we're going to do a group read in October, you sure couldn't ask for a title that's any more appropriate! :-)

That sounds fine to me, I vote for The October Country by Bradbury for October. Do we want to go with Doc Wilde for November? or December?

I'll probably be tied up reading Water Witch by Deborah Leblanc in November. ("Tied-up" sounds terrible --but I honestly am looking forward to reading it! :-)) Deborah's a Goodreads friend of mine; and even if the Supernatural Fiction Readers group doesn't do her book as a group read in November, I promised her a review of it sometime this fall. So that's why I'm leaning to December as a time frame for Tim's book. But if the rest of you want to read it in November, I'll just chime in on the thread in December! :-)

And I'm game for either month.

Looking forward to the Bradbury next month. He's the guy who made me decide as a kid that I wanted to write as my job.

I would like to lend my vote for "October Country". I was planning on reading it anyway!

Yes, Steve, I think it's definitely okay to say that The October Country is our October common read! And I think that in the case of the Doc Wilde book, the rest of us would be happy with either month that you pick.

In that case, if everyone is agreeable, I propose Doc Wilde and The Frogs of Doom as our November read and The October Country as our October read.

Works for me. Sort of appropriate, Bradbury leading into me. He was the guy who made me decide to be a writer.

Sounds good to me! And I'll plan to go ahead and read Tim's book in November after all, along with everybody else. (It occurred to me that since I've waited this long to review Water Witch, another month won't make any difference! :-))
