Read a book another RwS member has rated 5 stars. See help thread for hints and tips about finding these books.

10.2 ANNIVERSARY

Read a book in which the first word of title starts with one of the letters in anniversary (leading articles can be used or ignored as benefits the reader).

10.3 Revolution

Read a book about the Industrial Revolution.

10.4 Genius

Read one of the top 250 books from the Post Modern Genius List.

10.5 Debut (or most recently published book)

Read an author's debut book or most recently published book as of December 1, 2019.

10.6 Not Quite Jumbo

Because books that don't quite earn jumbo points often get put aside, read a book that has between 400 and 499 pages. We will use the MPE to determine book page count.

10.7 Alphabet Soup

This task is about matching two different letters of the alphabet between title and author.
First, here's the list of letters that "match": A - N, B - O, C - P, D - Q, E - R, F - S, G - T, H - U, I - V, J - W, K - X, L - Y, M - Z.
If your book's title begins with A, then your author's first or last name (or if the author consistently uses a full third name (i.e., Gabriel Garcia Marquez)) must start with N (or vice versa). Authors's middle initials cannot be used for this task, articles should be included or ignored as benefits the reader.

10.8 Single Word Title

Winter contains the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, as well as February, the shortest month of the year. Read a book with a short title...so short that it only consists of one word. For this task, no subtitles are allowed.

10.9 Play the Numbers

The winter Challenge is held the 12th, 1st, and 2nd months. Read a book that was originally published in a year which contains the numerals 1 and 2, such as 2011, 1925, 1862, etc.

10.10 Group Reads

In honor of our group's 10th anniversary, read any book from the group's bookshelf which you have not previously read.

20.2 Freedom Season

20.5 Sense of Place

Read a book which evokes a sense of place. Any book listed for either the Winifred Holtby Memorial Prize or the Ondaatje Prize qualify for this task. Also qualified are books where the GR description specifically references "sense of place" or elsewhere on the web in which the book summary specifically references a "sense of place." In this latter case, please provide a link in the appropriate help thread.
