The Procrastinators Book Club discussion

Welcome to the Tithe Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on December 16th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each week we will be reading by chapters. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

Week of 12/16
December 16: Prologue + Chapters 1-5
December 17: Chapters 6-10
December 18: Chapter 11-15

Starting this today!

I'll be starting this evening at work likely! Going to try to earlier but the kids are out on snow days so who knows if I'll get any quiet to read lol.

I am just like you, I will start later.

Up to Chapter 10 now. While I am enjoying it somewhat, so far I'm just not enjoying this one as much as Holly Black's other books that I've read. It somehow doesn't feel all that developed to me. The characters just don't seem as developed to me - they seem more superficial and like tropes

How are you guys doing?

I totally agree, the characters are very flat. That causes me to not move forward as fast as I expected.

So I finished it... I'm ambivalent to be honest. It wasn't great, it wasn't terrible, it just didn't captivate me too much. I feel like I'll forget what happened pretty soon

@Heather how did you get on with this one? We usually have somewhat similar tastes..

I may still read the sequel just to see if it gets any better (I don't know why I do these things haha)

So I forgot to take this with me to work Monday night and didn't get to start it. Then was awake for about 40 hours straight and was too damn tired yesterday to read a page. *facepalm*

Most of my day today is booked with deep cleaning a 7 year olds room :( But hoping to read some of it tonight and then I'll touch base! I bought the 3 book bind up so even if it's not great, I'm sure I'll push through lol

Hahah we can buddy read the rest - I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either so let's see where it goes

I keep picking this up but have yet to get past the first chapter.. just not into it at all. Maybe too much faerie lately? I dunno..
