“He listened to her with silent attention, and on her ceasing to speak, rose directly from his seat, and after saying in a voice of emotion, 'To your sister I wish all imaginable happiness; to Willoughby, that he may endeavor to deserve her,' took leave, and went away.” Sense & Sensibility

Momtoten /Cherith Boardman | 80 comments I'm just curious to know how my fellow Brandonites are doing?
I'm at 52 books, but should hopefully slow down soon as I have more time at home (for writing) rather than sitting in waiting rooms with the kiddie-winks doctor's appointments.
Godspeed on everyone's reading!

LOL, I doubt I'll ever visit Colonel Brandon as a challenger, but I am happily getting a nice split of much older books on my shelf with some newer ones.

Glad you'll be out of the waiting rooms soon, Momtoten! :)

Wishing best health! 52 is awesome! While this level isn't necessarily a goal (although I believe I and others pushed to add this level) I'm at 46 but will probably slow down as well (not a great health yr so far). Happy writing! I have a couple of one shots floating in my wee noggin.

Momtoten /Cherith Boardman | 80 comments Doing another check-in on my fellow Brandonites?

Sure enough, I've slowed down some. Been focusing more on novellas since I don't have as long to read, but my word count has climbed.

I'm at 86. How is everyone else doing?

How are you doing, Mr Kirk? Your health improving?

Thanks! Yes improved health. :) One-shots... not so much. Soonish.... maybe! Hopefully less appointments for you and the wee ones. Low 80s for me. Will be in the East Room for a while unless I hit another fanfiction.net jackpot.

Momtoten /Cherith Boardman | 80 comments Congratulations, Kirk! I just made it to our dear Colonel's myself. Delaford is so lovely this time of year!

How are my fellow Brandonites?

I'm at 102, reading more slowly now as I've been writing and editing my current WIP. (I've been rereading some stories, which is what I do when I don't have enough time to finish a book before bedtime.)

What about you? How are your TBR goals?

Godspeed!

Thanks!! Congrats about reaching 102!! Yes indeed about Delaford. With all do respect to Fanny and the East Room, I'm very very glad to be at Deleford at this difficult time. Hmmmm...I smell one-shots...I've so far failed to "write" anything. Congrats on working on your WIP!

To fend off a reading slump, I've been mixing and matching various books at the same time ie 5% Scottish bandits, 15pgs of Civil War book, 10% JA book etc Lol...the pile is going up up and away with all the recent freebies. Cheers!

Ah! The mix and match. I was suffering a bit of writer's burnout last weekend - and was simply tired of JAFF - so I indulged in three days of murder mystery delight!
Then I finally had an idea of where to go next in my WIP, so I was back at the keyboard.

Godspeed on your Scottish bandits and Civil War!

(PS Do you have any good recommendations for Scottish History? I'm needing research for a future story.)

Thanks!!!

I've been enjoying Alistair Moffat's books. Lots of info, occasionally gets off track. I've read his shorter, specific ones ie Bandits(Reivers), The Wall, lost roads, and Tuscany. He has a longer overall Scottish history book that I might try.
