This one is tough for me since I enjoyed a lot of books published this year, but I think my favorite was The Hundred-Year House.

My favorite book of the year was What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions. Crazy questions; great, funny answers.

I would describe this series as a Dystopian X-men series full of awesomeness. I can't recommend it enough. There is a lot of emotional play between the three lead characters that might make these books seem geared towards women-but my advice is don't knock it until you've tried it. You will be missing out on a great book.

A year is a long time! How about...A Star For Mrs. Blake. I enjoyed learning about the WWI era with a well-written book.
