Hey hey! Is everyone ready? The Read Harder Challenge is back for its sixth year! Every year, more and more of you join us for this reading adventure and we're excited to take that ride with you again. Once again, the challenge contains 24 tasks designed to help you stretch your reader limits and broaden your horizons. We hope you'll discover a love for a new genre, find new authors, and consider new points of view in the process.

A few things to keep in mind: while we certainly encourage you to challenge yourself and go outside of your comfort zone, no one is keeping score. There's no test at the end, no badges given out for "proper" completion. Want to use a book for more than one task? Sweet! Do you prefer to read one book per task instead? Wonderful! This challenge is largely what you make of it; we hope you'll do the work to make it worthwhile, but you'll only be accountable to yourself.

Lastly: if you want to join a community of fellow challenge-goers, share your reading progress, and get suggestions for each of the tasks, check out the Read Harder Challenge Goodreads group. It's a great place to discuss the challenge, exchange reading recs, and just hang out with other cool book people. We also invite you to join us on social media! Use the #ReadHarder hashtag to join the conversation. Finally, join Book Riot Insiders for access to the exclusive Read Harder podcast; every two weeks, Vanessa Diaz and Tirzah Price will offer suggestions for one of the 24 tasks.
