Beena (beenz) | 2196 comments Possibly The Belgariad series by David Eddings? I read the whole lot when I was like 12/13 ish, so they're pretty simple and don't involve a complicated plot. The first one is Pawn of Prophecy.

Julia | 122 comments I liked Mari Mancusi's Scorched trilogy. Dragons, time travel, and adventure. Best suited for ages 13 and up, I would say.

My sister loves Eragon. They are long books, but they are targeted at pre-teen/teen.

A fun series of six books is The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, starting with The Alchemyst. I would say it is targeted at pre-teen level?

I read Wings by Aprilynne Pike, and that was fun. (First of a series; I haven't followed up yet.) Pre-teen based again, but a fun new take on fairies.

Skellig is one of my favourites. The fantasy isn't the core theme... more mystery, love, family, etc. The fantasy is more localized to one character in particular.

Saul the Heir of Isauldur (krinnok) | 209 comments You could try The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis, the Pendragon series by D. J. MacHale and The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. They are all meant to be read by younger readers so they are a bit easier to get through.

lorii (Loriidae) | 325 comments I agree with The Belgariad. I read it as an adult and loved it. The main character does start young, but he grows into a man with adult responsibilities through the series.
