This is a prompt that many of us could use suggestions for! What's a book that you read in 2019 that had a frustrating character?

Heather Addai (heatheraddai) | 34 comments I didn’t have one in 2019 by for this I’m reading Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy

Judy Hall (goodreadscomjudy_hall) | 11 comments I just read The Humbug Murders. The lead character is Ebeneezer Scrooge but without the ghosts. He's frustrating because if you know A Christmas Carol, you know who and what he can be.

Carol (cquan01) | 587 comments I am not clear on this one. Should it be 2019 or 2020? Can it be non-fiction? I am reading Wild, which is non-fiction, but I find her very frustrating. I was going to use this for a book with “W” in the title, but there are a lot of options for that. I already changed my original idea.

It can be any kind of book from any time period. The only thing required is that someone in the book frustrates you. The reason why the frustrate you is up to you too. This is YOUR challenge so it is about satisfying you.

Carol (cquan01) | 587 comments Well, I use Wild then. Thanks!!!

Carol (cquan01) | 587 comments Just finished Wild. I really liked the book though some of the things she did and didn’t do to prepare for her hike made her frustrating.

Shirley McAllister | 57 comments I am waiting until I read a book with such a character than I will place it in that spot.

Carol (cquan01) | 587 comments When some of these categories, it is hard to choose until you finish the book. This category is definitely one of them. With some of them, I will pick them for one category and they may end up in a different one. That has already happened.

You may even find yourself rearranging after you've already filled a slot. With so many books fitting multiple prompts you may read one in 6 months that makes you think "That is exactly perfect for this prompt, while the book I used fit more than one".

Carol (cquan01) | 587 comments Yes, I have already changed things several times. Originally Wild was going to be for my book with @W” in the title.

Krissy White | 51 comments I used These Things Hidden by Heather Gudenkauf but pretty much all of the books I've read this year have contained at least one character that frustrated me. I loved These Things Hidden and it was one of my favorite books I've read this year.
