It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

Hi! I'm new to the group, but so far I've read a few chapters and it's been hard to put down! I'm the type that if it doesn't catch me within a few pages, I get bored so I'm happy my first group read is a good one!

I made it to chapter 6. You're right Brie, it hooks you almost right away!

I love that it starts out action packed, I do hope we get a bit of background on what exactly caused the apocalypse-which I'm sure we will, I love background!

I am doing the audio version of the book. Started this morning on the drive to work. I am about 1.5 hours (Chapter 10) in and it is excellent so far.
This came at a great time, I needed an angel book to help complete my "creature Challenge" and I have people to discuss it with!

I thought she was about that age but then she is off kissing an angel that is not age appropriate lol

Finally started this today. It's the first book I've read about angels but I'm liking it so far!

Brandy, I'd like to read the second one. I'm going to finish the first either today or tomorrow.
