As you know, we love to introduce our readers to new authors as much as possible and with that in mind, there will be new guidelines for our group reads.
We know that it's hard for authors to get the word out about their new books, however our group read nominations are NOT the place to promote them. Authors/Publishers nominating their own books will have those nominations deleted, without comment.
Group read nominations are monitored by one of our moderators, who then creates our polls each month. As of January 2020, which books make it to the final polls will be at the sole discretion of the moderator.
Books read by this group within the last 3-4 years will no longer be eligible for our final group read polls. Classics by King, Straub and Shirley Jackson, among others, have been read by us several times already as I stated above, we want to offer our members exposure to new books and authors.

The HA bookshelf is here, (if you see GROUP READ and READ under the shelf column, and the date started is within the last 4 years, the book is NOT eligible.)

If a mistake is made and an ineligible book is nominated, the moderator will let you know. Members are always able to suggest more than one book, so if one of your nominations isn't accepted, feel free to nominate something else.
