Hello all!!!

After a quick search of lesser known things that are celebrated in January, I have discovered that Sherlock Holmes' birthday is actually January 6th. (Interesting side note* The year is apparently a hotly contested topic among Sherlockians but, according to the legends the character was born in either 1853 or 1854.*)
I thought this would make a fun theme to kick off the new year with! Suggest anything with a mystery. It can absolutely be a Sherlock book or it can be a murder mystery, true crime, or a fun mystery that does not involve any serious crime. I love a good mystery so I can't wait to see what everyone suggests!!

Happy reading folks!

I thought the protagonist of this novel would be a contemporary of Sherlock Holmes' time.

Dustin | 154 comments How about the detective stories by Edgar Allan Poe, such as The Purloined Letter, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, or The Mystery of Marie Rogêt ? Not sure if these are what you're looking for, since they're short stories and not novels.
