You did it! Will you go watch an adaptation now?

What are your thoughts at the end of this book? What scenes stand out to you? Are you team Laurie or team Professor? How do you feel about Amy? What will your rating be?

Anna | 13 comments I will definitely see the movie! Team Professor! I think Amy grew from selfish to generous.

Kate | 39 comments I loved the book and will definitely see the new film adaptation. I am curious to see a new take on a great story. And much as Laurie was a great friend for Jo, the Professor was more her type romantically as she finally came to understand what romantic love feels like. Amy really matured in the end, and as always, was a force to be reckoned with. I rated the book 5 stars.

Jennifer I definitely can’t wait to see the new movie now. I think I enjoyed the book more as an adult and gave it 5 stars.

I think Jo made the right choice with the professor and the Laurie and Amy were a better match.

I think the book was rather feminist for its time. I loved how strong the women were and were true to themselves, not just marrying off for money or status.

I liked Amy all along. I didn’t always agree with her, but she seemed so real. She really came a long way and matured throughout the story.

I haven't forgotten about this group! haha. I did read the book as an audiobook mainly. I had to drive to NY from VA for Christmas so this book was my companion during that drive. It was SO lovely! I also did see the movie on Christmas day and it's easily my favorite adaptation of the book. I wasn't really a fan of the 90s version with Winona Ryder.

I agree that Alcott was ahead of her time as far as thinking about women. I love how each of the sisters chose a different path and all were loved, encouraged, and respected throughout the book.

I asked that about Amy because she's my least favorite sister...and still is. She's the one I connect the least with, but on this read through I did respect her a bit more. Younger me never got over that she burned the manuscript, went to Europe AND ended up with Laurie. I wanted all those things for Jo so badly!!

Kim Kantor (kimkantor) | 92 comments It is still one of my favorite classics! I saw the movie Xmas Eve and loved the different take on the story. Amy was always my least favorite mainly because she ends up with Laurie but, now that I’m MUCH older, I see Laurie and Jo would have killed each other! Lol. It seems that Little Women has a few new incarnations, similar to Pride and Prejudice retellings, so I’m curious to see how these new novels deal with these amazing women!

Anna | 13 comments I saw the movie today!

Candi (candilovesbooks) I read this book when I was a teenager and saw all of the movies except for the new one. Which I will eventually. I am listening to the audiobook. It is still enjoyable. I did expect Jo and Laurie to marry. Oh well...
