Hugo & Nebula Awards: Best Novels discussion

This is a folder to discuss Hugo and Nebula Awards for 2020. The idea is to discuss all main Categories and nominees as well as all issues linked to the process.

We cannot affect Nebula but we have a way to affect Hugo. We have a voting membership plus the last year one membership allows us to nominate (but not vote for nominees ion the WorldCon).

So, like this (2019) year, we will select the list of nominees and send it (nominating twice)

Do you know if Dead Astronauts by Jeff VanderMeer is eligible for the 2020 Hugo or Nebula? Because if so, I think it is a must for consideration.

I know that it is a sequel / prequel to Borne (which could hurt its chances for a nomination), but also acts as a stand alone. And it is definitely pushing the form and structure of speculative fiction.

Yes it is. Being not the first in the series hurts but can be overcome, like last year's Record of a Spaceborn Few made it (it is the 3rd volume), but the 2nd one didn't.

My idea was that here we have threads, where we list and discuss eligible works we've read, while in the other we have monthly reads of new books, so discussions there are more detailed per book but with fewer books
