This could be an indigenous people group from anywhere in the world, and the book can be any genre.

Some suggestions:

Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse (Navajo/fantasy America)
My Name is Not Easy by Debby Dahl Edwardson (Arctic)
The Birchbark House by Louise Erdrich (Ojibwe/America)
Tree Girl by Ben Mikaelson (Mayan/Guatemala)

Nikki (mnnikki) | 164 comments It's sitting on my bookshelf, waiting to be read, so I'm going to read The Round House, also by Louise Erdrich for this category.

I have several titles that could fit, but I am also strongly considering The Round House, because I had hoped to read it this year and didn't get to it.

Jessica | 9 comments Nikki, I just started the copy I got from you at our book exchange. I’ll probably finish it this week,
So I’ll need a different one for next year! 😊

Nice! I'll be curious what you think. Maybe someone else in book club will want to read your copy for this prompt. :)

Katrina Slayton | 25 comments For this prompt I read "The Wolf in the whale" by Jordanna Max Brodsky. This is no on my favorite books of all time list!
It was such an incredible mix of Historical Fiction and Mythology (both Norse and Inuit) with several appearances of gods and goddesses of both. ugh....I already want to read it again!
It does have some trigger warnings...(it was a violent, brutal time period). Warnings include violence against animals, sexual assault, violence resulting in murder, some being children, etc.
