Nine? Wow, that is good going. Almost finished my seventh

Debbie (debbiegregory) | 585 comments I've added Life on Earth because it was a childhood favourite when it was published in 1979. My Sister gifted the 40th anniversary copy, knowing how much I loved the original, which sadly I don't have anymore. I lost count of the number of hours I spent lost in all the weird and wonderful creatures. It helped instill my lifelong passion for wildlife and the environment. Just browsing on BBC Sounds and found the audiobook narrated by Sir David Attenborough. I'm so happy with that find. :)

Well done, Did you get a review copy of it?

message 18: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Yes I did. Did you manage to get one?

message 19: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
I didn't ask for one

message 20: by Cathy (new)

Cathy | 553 comments Haven't managed to do the challenges in the last couple of years but this is a great incentive to tackle all those dusty books so I'm going to try and do better this year...

message 21: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
No pressure, Cathy. Try a line at a time

message 22: by Cathy (new)

Cathy | 553 comments Thanks, Paul. I have to keep reminding myself I am NOT ALLOWED to buy any more books for this.

message 23: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
You are allowed to buy books, just not for this challenge

message 24: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Omg. I’ve just found lots of books on Goodreads that I put that I wanted to read, in past. Some are before 2015. I’d forgotten about those. On a positive note they may fit into the challenge more easily than my actual books on bookshelves.

message 25: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Finished my 500 page book for this challenge. The last Harry Potter book is complete, yay I made it to the end of this series. :-)

message 26: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Well done Jason

message 27: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (mrswhams) | 730 comments Mod
Well done! Were you reading it with your kids, Jason, or just on your own? Funnily enough I am reading it to my son and we, too, have reached the final three chapters. Marathon effort to read the whole series aloud, and now my youngest is telling me I'll have to do it again for him in a few years... 🤪

message 28: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments No, I had to read books 1 and 4 as part of another reading challenge, and I couldn't not leave a series unfinished.

Ain't you lucky getting to have a re-read. haha

message 29: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments By that time they will prob want to read it alone.

message 30: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Just finished the gallows pole. 12th book for this challenge and it were a right corker.

message 31: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod

message 32: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Got that one on my tbr list, just need to get a copy.

message 33: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Doing well Jason. I’m not doing so well on this one, despite lots of dusty books.

message 34: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Only 5 books left to go. woooo

message 35: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Yay. Just about to count mine. Not sure I’m that far

message 36: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments 6 left. Not good on colours. Have you chosen books that are generally red, green etc, or completely? Can’t find latter. If I could do former I could add one. Is autobiography counted as biography? If so then one more. Help me Jason...Did you have a happy birthday btw?

message 37: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Check out these beautiful books Pat. https://www.penguin.co.uk/series/clot...

Pick books based on their colours as a treat for yourself :-)

I would say autobiography is counted as biography.

I had a very good birthday thanks...lots of books and whiskey :-)

message 38: by Jazzy (new)

Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) | 274 comments Happy birthday Jason! xx

message 39: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments I recently had pressies at work. I too had whiskey. Funny that. Haha

message 40: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Lovely book covers. No correlation with those on my dusty shelves tho.
