Loneshadow, Starpaw, and Spottedthunder padded into the cave.

Hawkblaze followed. Whisperpaw bounced behind them all.

"Starpaw has earned her warrior name. Starpaw, do you promise to stand apart from the rivalry between Clan and Clan, and to help all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do."

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your full name as a medicine cat. Starpaw, from this moment, you will be known as Starsteps."

Whisperpaw noticed Hawkblaze was huge, muscled and cold-eyed with long claws. Are all Thunderclan cats scary? She wondere.

"I also present to StarClan this apprentice Whisperpaw. Please guide her through her time as a medicine cat." Loneshadow dipped her head.

Whisperpaw stared wonderingly at everything around her. She was a true medicine cat now!

"Surprising, isn't it? Being here with all these other cats you don't know."

"Yes," Whisperpaw replied in a hushed tone. "It's kind of...incredible."

Starsteps turned and pressed her nose to the moonstone. ((we go starclan for dreams, yes?))

Starsteps awoke and saw Loneshadow and Whisperpaw awaken too. "I'm going now."

Loneshadow nodded. "Whisperpaw, we need to go home."

"Oh...ok," she mumbled, still trapped in the strange stupor of information. "Coming," she meowed softly and followed her mentor.

Loneshadow sighed. She knew who Whisperpaw's real mother was, but she wasn't sure how to tell Whisperpaw, or if Ice-echo should tell her.

Hawkstar walked in and got her nine lives from Trigger, Mouse, and Ragweed and 6 other cats.

((okay. then loneshadow is going to give up her position...is shadowpaw ready for her name???))

Loneshadow padded forward. "Whisperpaw had proven herslef well. She is ready to be a full medcine cat. Whisperpaw, do you promise to stand apart from the rivalry etween Clan and Clan, and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"

((Hmmm..sure. What do you want her name to be?))

Whisperpaw's eyes shone in the pre-moon gloom. "Yes," she meowed clearly, her mew ringing out in the small space.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Whsiperpaw, from this moment you rname will be Whisperleaf. Serve your Clan well.

"I also have my own annoucement. I am going to retire as medicine cat." Loneshadow meowed.

Whisperleaf bowed her head, but i shot up again in surprise. "But...I'll be the only medicine cat?"

"Yes. I'm getting old, Whsiperpaw. I feel you are ready." Loneshadow meowed.

Shadowpaw watched whisperleaf, wondering when she would get her ceremony.

Whisperleaf looked torn between awe, horror, sadness, and pride. She wanted to nuzzle her old mentor affectioately, but she had to be formal. She dipped her head.

"You have served the clan well," Whisperleaf meowed solemnly. "I will try my best to follow in your footsteps."

Hawkblaze cleared his throat and stepped forward. "My own apprentice is ready, too. Shadowpaw, step forward. She has prove yourself true and wise, and i know she is ready to be a full medcine cat. Whisperpaw, do you promise to stand apart from the rivalry etween Clan and Clan, and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"

Loneshadow dipped her head as well.

"I do." Shadowpaw meowed.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Shadowpaw, from this moment your name will be Shadowsoul. Serve your Clan well."

Shadowsoul dipped her head. She knew she would always serve her Clan well. She padded up to the Moonstone just as Tortoisesoul padded inside.

Hawkblaze nodded and padded up to the stone, as did Whisperleaf

Tortousesoul watched the cats. So far, no one had seen her. She started to back out.

Hawkblaze was about to touch his nose to the stone when he caught a stange scent and loooked around.

Tortoisesoul froze.

Shadowsoul and Loneshadow looked at her.

Whisperleaf looked at her. "who are you?"

"Tortoisesoul. Of MoonClan."

"Moonclan?"

"Yes, mouse-brain, that's what I said."

Whisperleaf bared her fangs. "That's not any clan I know."

"No it may not be. In fact, it would appear there's alot you cats don't know about. SunClan exists also, under Moonstar's leadership."

Hawkblaze narrowed his eyes. "You aren't welcom here. You are not one of the four clans!"

"StarClan has accepted me, as it has Moonstar."

"No. There are four clans!" Hawkblaze hissed, stepping closer threateningly. ((The one medicine cat that rivals Tortoisesoul in snappish anger... O.o))

"There are six! Ask StarClan yourself!"

"No! You're nothing but crappy clans formed by selfish, power hungry cats from clans who wanted to be leader but couldn't, so they did it this way!"

((It's true))

"That's not true!" Tortoisesoul snarled. "Go into your dreams, and ask the dark gray tom who's always so crabby!"

"And who would that be?" Hawkblaze challenged, towering over her. "I don't care what he says--you're nothing but fake clans. Clans can't just be randomly formed--it doesn't work that way."

"They weren't randomly formed!" Tortoisesoul spat.

"You mean Grimcry?" Loneshadow meowed.

"YES THEY WERE!" Hawkblaze roared. "Twistedstar got all mad 'cause all her kin were dead. Solution? I dunno, make her own clan! Hawk was jealous of Brick as deputy of Bloodclan. Solution? Oh, I dunno, make my own clan so I can get my power hunger satiated!"

"NO THEY WEREN'T! And maybe you're in league with them! How else could you know of Twistedstar?"

Shadowsoul tackled Hawkblaze. "This is not the place!"

Hawkblaze hissed in fury and threw his apprentice off. "I speak to STARCLAN, you idiot," he snarled to the she-cat. "Of course I know this stuff. And what do you have to say about how the clans were formed, huh?"
