1. How did you do with your goals for the year?
For the first time, I met my series completed goal (10), finishing 11 but didn’t make my series up to date goal (20), finishing 17. I’m happy though as I surpassed my Goodreads Challenge goal (150), 156 books read!

2. What were your most outstanding series that you read during the year?
Chronicles of the One by Nora Roberts was my most favorite of this I completed. I had so many of those up to date but Will Trent by Karin Slaughter was definitely the most outstanding.

3. What were your most favorite books read (series and standalone)?
The Last Widow, Where the Crawdads Sing, Daisy Jones & The Six, A Ladder to the Sky, Just Love, Miracle Creek, Once Upon a River, Life and Other Inconveniences, Evidence of the Affair, The Highwayman and The Bromance Book Club were my top 12 books this year.

4. What were you the most proud of accomplishing this year?
I came really close to fulfilling all of my series goals while adding a lot more standalones to my reading plans. I’ve had one of the best reading years and love that I still make a dent in my series, too.

The Last Widow (Will Trent, #9) by Karin Slaughter Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid A Ladder to the Sky by John Boyne Just Love by Prescott Lane Miracle Creek by Angie Kim Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield Life and Other Inconveniences by Kristan Higgins Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid The Highwayman (Victorian Rebels, #1) by Kerrigan Byrne The Bromance Book Club (Bromance Book Club, #1) by Lyssa Kay Adams

Great year for you. I think that not meeting the up to date goal just means you aren’t reading that many open series right now that’s not a bad thing. It sort of meets the goal of not starting a million new series ya know? That’s how I’m looking at it for me anyway. You have a lot of books on here I need to try.

Okay. If I recall, Jessika, you read some massive tomes this year that would have counted as almost three books! I think you had a wonderful year. Kudos to you💜

Wow. Wow. Wow. Big congratulations, Christina!

I share your feelings about not wanting Kate Daniels to end. I stalled around #7 and will probably resume this year...every book 5 stars for me after #1.

Laura 1. My goals for the year-
210/150.
Completed 27/30
Up to date 11/15. I’m fine not meeting this. I concentrated more on series that were complete. 15 is most likely impossible but I’m keeping same for this year.

2. My outstanding series Both series I had on my kindle forever and I binged both start to finish.
Hands down Experiment In Terror series by Karina Halle. Horror is so not my thing, but it became my thing. I want to re-read it soo bad. It took me almost a month to binge it.
Inside Out by Lisa Renee Jones

3. Favorite books So hard to pick
Lying Season (Experiment in Terror, #4) by Karina Halle If I Were You (Inside Out, #1) by Lisa Renee Jones Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) by Colleen Hoover Before You by Marni Mann Sure Thing (Best Laid Plans, #1) by Jana Aston Pretty Reckless (All Saints High, #1) by L.J. Shen Rule (Marked Men, #1) by Jay Crownover Bohemian by Kathryn Nolan Mine by Courtney Cole Look the Part by Jewel E. Ann Book Boyfriend (Book Boyfriends, #1) by Claire Kingsley Repeat by Kylie Scott The Simple Wild (Wild, #1) by K.A. Tucker Meet Cute by Helena Hunting Rock Bottom Girl by Lucy Score The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary

4. I’m most proud of working on my older series. Half of my finished series are many years old. I am having fun “ shopping “on my kindle for what to read next. I’m also working on a few authors back list. Going slow though to make them last. - Colleen Hoover, LJ Shen, to name a few.

Okay. You KNOW how much I love following your reading, right? I’ve gotta say that THIS year was the most fun ever because your enthusiasm about what you were reading was remarkable!!! I’m tempted to add a Laura shelf for all the books I’ve added or moved up because of you. Forget the goals, you had FUN this year!

Viki (vikir) | 814 comments Let's take a look at our results for 2019:

1. How did you do with your goals for the year?
I did alright with my goal. I read 21 books, so I didn't finished my goodreads challenge this year, but there is always next year!

2. What were your most outstanding series that you read during the year?
Lisa Jackson - Expecting to Die - Great series, can't wait to read the next one in 2020.
Four to Score - Janet Evanvoich - A great funny series. Love it.
Rapture in Death - J.D Robb - Love this series. I don't think I will ever finish the series though.

3. What were your most favorite books read (series and standalone)?
My favorite book this year is 11/22/63 by Stephen King. It was such a great book and it was a different book then I normally read so I really like it and it was a very long book but didn't feel like it!

4. What were you the most proud of accomplishing this year?

I was just happy that I actually read some of my series that I wanted to more. I am hoping in 2020 to continue reading my series and some standalones too .

message 19: by ~ Giulia ~ (new)

~ Giulia ~ | 104 comments 1. How did you do with your goals for the year?
So-so. I completely failed my primary goal to shorten my TBR, ending the year with at least 15 more books on the list :P but I completed 5/5 series and got up to date in 4/2.

2. What were your most outstanding series that you read during the year?
The more I think about it the more I want to add to this list, so I'll try to at least restrict myself to series of which I read (or re-read) at least 2 books in 2019:
The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
The Dark Tower by Stephen King
Remembrance of Earth's Past by Liu Cixin
Matthew Shardlake by C. J. Sansom

3. What were your most favorite books read (series and standalone)?
My 5-stars books were:
Words of Radiance (The Stormlight Archive, #2) by Brandon Sanderson Oathbringer (The Stormlight Archive, #3) by Brandon Sanderson Sovereign (Matthew Shardlake, #3) by C.J. Sansom Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1) by L.M. Montgomery Witch Week (Chrestomanci, #3) by Diana Wynne Jones

4. What were you the most proud of accomplishing this year?
I completed a couple of series that had been waiting on my shelf for far too long; and I managed to finish at least one of the group series reads (gaslight mysteries - great series!) even if I had to give up on the mortal instruments.

I don’t think you did just so-so!!! You achieved or surpassed your completed and up to date goals and that’s to be celebrated, Giulia💜

The more you thought about it, the more satisfied you seemed! Congratulations on a very fine year😊

Oh! And it’s crazy to think you’re not going to add more books to your shelf. The trick is to keep working the older ones and make progress. You’ve certainly done that.

message 21: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 1722 comments 1. How did you do with your goals for the year?
I made most of my goals, only the reading of books I bought last year and de ATY challenge goals I didn't meet. And that was mostly beacause I didn't read a lot in the last two months, my mind was occupied by other things (good things 🥰).

2. What were your most outstanding series that you read during the year?
That is a hard question 😊
I really enjoyed Elantris but there is only one book out in the series so I don't really count it.
I really like The Others and The Licanius Trilogy, from both series I have books left to read so I should really continue them soon.
For finished series I really liked Villains and Rebel of the sands.

3. What were your most favorite books read (series and standalone)?
Like mentioned before:
Elantris
Etched in Bone
An Echo of Things to Come
Vengeful
Traitor to the Throne
For standalones I liked:
Humans of New York: Stories
The Boy at the Top of the Mountain

4. What were you the most proud of accomplishing this year?
I keep making progress in my series 😊
(just a few more to read ;))
