Dan | 1568 comments We started out that first month in mid-March 2019 with about twenty founding members, most of whom were my friends who I had invited over from other groups to join me in this venture. Over the next eight months we have steadily added about ten members per month to reach 99 members at the end of the year.

I am thrilled to announce we picked up two more members today, Jan. 2, 2020, to at last bring our membership over 100. We may be small in number still compared to other groups here at GoodReads, but we make up for it in enthusiasm for our genre! I think it an excellent achievement to now surpass 100 members, especially when you stop to consider how many people believe Weird is only an adjective instead of the greatest genre of speculative fiction there is.

Richard Cadot (richardcadot) | 11 comments I discovered many authors here I never would have otherwise. Frankly, this is the most useful group I am a member of. Congrats!

I am very pleased about this, congrats!

There seems to be something about weird fiction which resonates with a percentage of readers from different times and different places. I haven't pinpointed what it is.

As long as the human race exists, weird fiction will be written.
