Kirsti Am i the only one who is really annoyed that the main characters are always small and have brown hair and green eyes. Not that i don't like those characters, but it would be nice to have a tall character or a blond main character that is not dumb. I feel every character is 5.0 inches and have brown hair or red, and the blondes are always the "bad guys". Just my opinion.

AbigailDenyse01 are we talking about girls of boys?

Kirsti girls :)

AbigailDenyse01 oh I totally understand! it's like really why are the girls always 5 feet tall and the guys 6 and a half
why can't the girl be like 5'9 or 6 feet tall?? not that I am saying the guy should be short or anything but... I totally understand. I also don't like that the girls always dicribe themselves as some what pretty but the guys say they are beautiful. why is it so bad to think your pretty?

Kirsti I'm 5.8 iches myself and it's kinda depressing when you only read about girls that are 5.0 inches And most boys are not that tall..

AbigailDenyse01 I know right! I am 5.3 and a half but I think I still have one more growth spurt! I really don't like being short!!!! I want to be around 5.7

Kirsti In our class many girls are over 5.6 and in our country ( norway) it's very common to be tall ( Even if you are a girl) I know authors sometimes write abort short girl cause there is more short girls than tall, but it would have vern Nice for tall girl not to feel gigantic because all the book characters are tiny ;)

Ilana i guess i haven't thought about it much but you're right. with the exception of The Host - (i think that Wanda was supposed to be pretty tall and fit), most are pretty petite and as you described. I think that the reason for that though is that we're supposed to start the journey with someone who's not typically in the forefront of the action, someone who blends in and who is smaller - which helps show their growth as their story continues. we see them become a larger than life personality because of what they go through.

that and i think that authors always want to have a leading lady that needs a 'big strong man' to help take care of her.

i'm pretty tall and blonde - so i'd be open to seeing more characters out there like me - not that i need that to relate to a story, but i feel like it would be nice.

Kristin If it makes you feel better most blondes are fake anyway. I mean like hair dye and bleach. Even blondes lighten their hair. I rarely picture characters right anyway.
