Hi! My name is Cassandrah Woyak, and Christi created this group to help with finding books to fulfill the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge 2020, because we can search the internet, but we don't know if anyone actually would recommend any of the books we find! I also thought it would be fun to see how others are doing with this challenge, and see how everyone else if fulfilling the topics, so we have the weekly check-ins as well. So I thought we'd answer a few questions to get to know everyone :)

What is your favorite genre of books?
Who is one of your favorite authors?
What is one of your all time favorite series?
How many books did you read last year, and did you do a challenge?
Why did you join this group and choose this challenge?
Did you come over from the 2019 group?

My favorite genre of books are dystopian novels (my handle on instagram is @dystopiannovelsfanatic), fantasy, and fairytale. I especially love any combinations of these.
One of my favorite authors is Sarah J. Maas. I love both series she has, and plan to read Catwoman for this challenge and fit it in somewhere! She's also releasing a new series this year since she's finished 'Throne of Glass' which is supposed to be a good read as well!
An all time favorite series of mine is A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. If you haven't read it and love beauty and the beast retellings, pick this up!
I read 110 books last year, and I did not quite finish my Popsugar 2019 challenge by 14 books.
I chose this challenge because I did the 2019 Popsugar Challenge and loved the topics as they help me branch out with my books!
And yes I came over from the 2019 group :)

Sonya (thelibrarianin3b) | 18 comments Hello everyone! I'm Sonya and I'm a Librarian at my local public library (hence my insta handle @thelibrarianin3b). I love reading and I love talking about books even more.

My favorite genre is fantasy (especially retellings), but I also really enjoy a good mystery. I'm trying to get more into sci-fi and contemporary this year.

Since Cassandra already chose one of my absolute favorite authors (SJM), I'll mention some others: Jane Austen, Anne Rice, Kevin Hearne, Charlaine Harris.

A Court of Thorns and Roses is also one of my all-time favorites along with Harry Potter (of course). The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne and the Midnight, Crossroad series by Charlaine Harris are also always good for a re-read.

I read 80 books last year so I met my Goodreads goal. I also finished the PopSugar 2019 challenge, and both the OWLs and NEWTs readathon by BookRoast. I didn't finish the Winter Magical Readthon by BookRoast though and have given up on it in order to just start fresh.

I joined this group because I honestly believe it helped me be accountable and stay motivated with my reading. The PopSugar challenge is always good for exploring new genres I might not normally pick up too. I am however hoping to be less competitive with myself about challenges this year. I don't want to make reading into a chore.

I did come over from the 2019 group. Hey everyone!

Hello all! My name is Christi and I am currently a service coordinator for a facility management company. I am planning to go back to school at some point this year to become an El Ed teacher though :)

My favorite genre is probably romance. They just always catch my attention and are easier to read than other genres.

My aboslutely favorite author is JK Rowling- Harry Potter series is my favorite all time series and I reread them all at least once a year...no shame!

As previously mentioned all time favorite series is Harry Potter

I only read 32 books of the 50 I planned to last year which still is not terrible. We had a crazy busy year last year as my hubby and I got married in September so almost all free time we had between out two jobs each was dedicated to the wedding haha

I joined the group because I created it :)

I did come over from the 2019 group also

Kobi Solomon Hello, I’m Kobi. I’m an aged care worker and love my job! I also upcycle furniture at home for sale.

I aim to read a book a week (I am listening to Thornwood House on Audible atm)

I am also doing the konmarie tidy. Also loving the effect it is having on my life.

I came from the 2019 popsugar challenge. I failed to complete the list last year but I managed to read nearly 30 books! Which is 30 more than the year before.

Good luck readers

Anne K. (clulle) Hi, I'm Anne and I am from Denmark.

Right now I am really into crime books, but since English is not my first language, I mostly read a lot of childrens books and Y/A to practice my English.

I have a couple of favorite authors, but to name a few; I really enjoy the work of Jussi Adler-Olsen - Danish author, who has written some really good crime books (a series called Department Q, also available in English) - and I also really enjoy the whimsical work of Roald Dahl.

My all time favorite book(s) would be 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Through the Looking-Glass' by Lewis Carroll.

Last year I read 42 books, and I my goal was to read 30, so I am porud of that! I looked into Popsugar 2019, but never started, so I thought that 2020 would be the year for me to try it out!

Hello I'm Kristen, from Canada. I am a bit late to joining this challenge but no worries as I read fairly consistently.

I read books of all genres. I do have a soft spot for some fantasy novels but really, I read everything.

My absolute favourite author is Neil Gaiman! I love everything he has written and devour his books readily!

I have been on a mission for the past fifteen years to collect all of the books in the Dragonlance series! There are something like 160 books in the series! I have maybe 75 (approximately!) I haven't read a lot of Dragonlance in the past several years but they hold a place in my heart from when I was a teenager and would disappear in those books whenever I needed to get away from reality.

Last year I read 70 out of the 100 I had intended to read. I did not do a challenge, per se, only the Goodreads Reading Challenge.

For the past few years I have looked at the Popsugar Reading Challenge but have not actually taken part and I thought since 2020 is a year of many new things for me it would be about time I started reading this challenge. I was happy to find a group with people to talk about the challenge with.
