Something Old, Something New discussion

Welcome to the crazy holiday season! A time for family and food and shopping and all kinds of insanity! I hope you all have some fantastic plans and special traditions and important people to occupy your time.

But, if you need a break from all of those things and decide you would rather just pick up a book (and really, who wouldn't?) here are some tasks to help you find just the right book:

1. Read a book with a holiday themed cover. (2pts)

2. Read a book in which a holiday plays a central role . This does not need to be the December holidays. If you want to read a book set during Easter while getting your Christmas shopping done, go for it. (4 pts)

3. Read a book which has been tagged ""family" by at least 5 other GoodReaders. (3 pts)

And to help us all ring in the new year and maybe find a new author or two:

Read a book by one of your favorite authors and tell us if this lived up to your expectations. Was it one of their better books? Or did it miss some of the magic from another book? Maybe this was an average showing? Convince us this should be our new author for a new year. (10 pts)
