message 18: by Eric, The Crypt Keeper (new)

Eric Layton (vtel57) | 697 comments Mod
1.What's at the top of your bucket list, currently? Hmm... hit a big lottery jackpot, then everything else on the list will come in time.

2. Favorite sport/activity (to do, not watch). My favorite sport is baseball. Actually, it's the only sport I follow. As far as participating goes, does bike riding count?

3. Have you ever stolen a book? Which one? Yes, I'm ashamed to say. I was young, though. To the good, I did eventually return it. It was a big hard cover book called The Scientific Study of Unidentified Flying Objects, sometimes known as "The Condon Report."

http://www.mysticlink.com/shop_image/...

I borrowed it on my brother's library card and didn't return it for about ten years. I was only about 8 or 9 when I borrowed it. I found it in a box in my closet when I was 18 or so and returned it to the library. The librarian laughed and thanked me for being so honest and finally returning the book. True story. Really. :)

---

1. Not counting Little Golden Books or Dr. Seuss, can you remember the first adult book you read?

2. How many books do you have in your home right now (approximately)?

3. What scary movie from your childhood made the earliest impression on you?

message 19: by Linda (last edited Dec 07, 2014 05:36PM) (new)

Linda | 615 comments 1. No, but I'm sure it was Dickens or, if you consider Black Beauty for adults, something like that.

2. At least 220, hard to count, plus another 150 or so at the office.

3. It was a vampire movie, I don't know the name. I woke up one night when I was about 5. I went out to the living room, where my parents were watching this movie. These two women were poking their noses into the cave of the vampire. There was a closed coffin. One of the idiots opened it. The vampire grabbed her, the other screamed, and ran out to the Volkswagen, totally bailing on her friend. Cut to the next scene, this woman's in her motel room, getting ready for bed. She gets the sensation someone's looking at her. She goes to the window, pulls back the curtain, and out of the blackness jumps the vampire. He goes through the window and grabs her. They repeated something similar in "Salem's Lot". Even though it's compeltely irrational, I cannot to this day live on the first floor of any place and have the curtains open at night. Second floor? No prob, only have to have curtains in bath and bedrooms. But not on the first floor.......If anyone knows the name of that one, hollah.

I also have memories of the "Dark Shadows' movie, one bite in particular, that took place on the side of a fountain.....

2. So many, I guess many have to do with playing outside in the lake and climbing trees, riding bikes with friends, going to Lake Mich. But the accomplishments are fun to remember, too.

3. Don't laugh, y'all! It's a place called "Chicken Coop" in Southwestern MI only. Best fried chicken in the world. So good I never had KFC until I was 21 and a friend forced me to. Haven't had any in about 12 years. I would road-trip for it. You know it's the right one if the plates and cups say "Only one life, 'twill soon be past, only what's done for Christ will last." My niece tried to FedEx me some last Xmas. She arranged for the dry ice, arranged for the container, called the restaurant when they got to MI--they were sold out by Xmas Eve.
