Roseanne | 1239 comments I cant believe it's that time again. I know I am going to have a very busy year and am expecting less reading time....how unfair! So here are the goals for the year:

1. 40 in 2015
2. Finally read the book that has been haunting me for 2 decades - War and Peace
3. Finish all started series....there are so many, what is wrong with me?
4. The Northanger Horrid Novels - yep I want to read all 9!

^ I'm curious on this one... This sounds like a challenging goal to me. Do you have a lot of these?

message 11: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments There are a 8 different series that I have started and not completed. Most of them I only have one or two books left in the series but I never seem to finish them all.

message 12: by Tracey (new)

Tracey | 916 comments I have at least a few that I also have not finished... Some of them though, I havent read in so long that I'm wondering if I should just start over sometime.

message 13: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I have had ones like that too and sometimes the beginning of the next book is difficult to get into when it has been so long that I think about starting over but there is so many I want to read that I never end up going back.

Roseanne | 1239 comments I expected War and Peace to be my first book of the year but the kids went back to school today and I always read the books my middle schooler reads. I knew he was getting The Giver today so last night I figured I would just read enough to stay ahead of him. Silly me! I just loved it so much.

message 15: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments I love that you read the same books that he does; that's such a great idea! The Giver was one of my favourites in school as well.

message 16: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I like to know what he is reading and this way he can always ask me if he has any questions. Plus the older he gets the more I find the nonreaders out there always have something negative to say about what the kids are reading. I like to be able to tell them why they are wrong. I really loved this one but at first I was like wow this is rough then I thought about how at his age all my friends were reading 1984 and Animal farm.

And Lord of the Freakin' Flies.
And Diary of Anne Frank.

message 18: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments Yep everyone read those too.

message 19: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I am finally getting back to War and Peace :)

message 20: by Roseanne (last edited Feb 20, 2015 10:11AM) (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I really enjoyed Love Life. I must confess though...I listened to the audio because Rob Lowe reads the book.

message 21: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I didnt think The Sea of Monsters was as good as The Lightning Thief but I loved the ending and want to see what happens next so I am moving on to the next book.

*Searches for Love Life in local audio library*

message 23: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments Finished Olive's Ocean. I actually read it because it is on a banned book list and cannot figure out how anyone could find anything offensive about this book.

message 24: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments War and Peace.....And there it is!

message 27: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments The Leftovers is probably the most depressing book I have every read.

message 28: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Oh no! That book has been on my TBR for a long time - if it's depressing I think it's probably going to be a permanent fixture there :)

message 29: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments Wow April? I had no idea it has been that long since I updated. I need to add what I have read since then.

Life is so distracting!!

message 31: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I am behind in updating again. This year has been so busy. But only a few more weeks and I will have more time for reading. Yey! :)
