Janice (jamasc) | 59882 comments *JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series (11 books read, 2 to go)
#12 The King #13 The Shadows(published March 2015)Requiem

If you read The King in January, you will have completed the series with the currently published books. You will have finished Level One with 105 points just by reading the one book. Waiting until Requiem is published gives you no advantage. You can still read Requiem once it's published as a filler if you need 5 points in another level.

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments Good point! I should start with The King to complete level one. I will still read the 2015 release once it comes out for a quick 5er in another level.
Thanks, Janice!

message 18: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59882 comments You read a lot of books for that level, Liz!

message 19: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments I know, Janice. And a bunch of book one's. Lol. Not very strategic.

message 21: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Congrats! I'm trying to finish up level 2 also and reading lots of books too. I think there is a strategy in getting all those reads in bc you really are still pushing through lots of series reads. A lot of these series have huge numbers! For me, even if the levels are slow going, the number of actual series books being read is a lot more than if I didn't have this challenge.

Sorry if that's ^^ written a bit confusingly...just got up. ;)

message 22: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments Yeah, I know what you mean. I really didn't have a lot of series in progress before the challenge started. So I've been taking the opportunity to start some new ones.

I AM finally going To finish the Harry Potter series this year.

message 23: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Congratulations, Liz! I know how it feels to read so many books for one level. I did it on my last. I see that you read Oryx and Crake. I have it in my book shelf. Hope to get to it one day, even if it adds another series to my list.

message 24: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments Cheri, I read Oryx and Crake and The Year of the Flood in Level 2. I loved Oryx and Crake, but book 2 was a bit "meh" for me. It had different characters and was told from a different perspective. I'm looking forward to book 3 as it is a continuation of the characters and plot in Oryx and Crake.

message 25: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments Interested to hear what you think on book 3 Liz. I had the same reaction as you with book 1 and 2. I abandoned book 3 though unfortunately. It is an amalgamation of the characters from 1 and 2. One of the POVs did my head in which was the main reason I stopped, especially as I felt she was out of character.

message 26: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments I think I'll wait a bit to get to book 3, Sarah. Maybe that will help it be more enjoyable. I need to knock off this series, it seems like it was on my TBR forever!

Tasha I'm trying to get level 4 done too before the end of the year.

message 31: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments I wanted to use Lonesome Dove as my last series read- but, I've barely even started it. I'm so bad, but I've hardly read anything over the last month and it hasn't been appealing to me.

message 32: by Tasha (new)

Tasha It's definitely a slower start. Part 2 starts to pick up. :)
