2025 Reading Challenge discussion

I need to seriously cut back my goal because the majority of 2015 will be taken up by my final three semesters in my teaching credential program. Between student teaching and course work it will be a whirlwind year! So my goal for now will be 50 books- if I feel comfortable with increasing my goal I will do so later in the year.

How is your challenge coming, Dana? Are you finding that you can make time for reading between all the teaching/coursework?

Hello Jackie, I'm actually almost done with it. I had some extra reading time this summer before my fall semester started and I was able to catch up on my challenge. I think I only have one more book to go to reach 50. I am feeling a crunch though now- teaching/coursework has really picked up these last few weeks.

I shocked myself by greatly surpassing my challenge this year. Part of it was due to The Complete Works Challenge-- I chose to read the complete works of two author/illustrators who have created a ton of picture books. The other part is I got a new job which allows me more free time. Who knows if I'll ever be this prolific a reader again. :)

Yeah, that's part of the reason I have completed my goal so early too. Those challenges sure keep you motivated!

Sorry for the late response Cassandra! My top 5 this year were The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, The Girl You Left Behind, One Summer: America, 1927, The Diary of a Young Girl, and The Language of Flowers

I need to read The Language of Flowers. Anyone I know who has read it raves about it.
