It’s been quite some time since I’ve been active on here! Unfortunately life has gotten in the way of my efforts in doing my part to keep our amazing group active, but I thought we should at least have an updated book discussion thread! So, what is everyone reading?! I’d love some great YA suggestions. I finally picked up Jessica Shirvington’s Embrace series after reading the first book years ago!

Well thanks for the updated thread. I havent read any good YA in ages well maybe not that long but I rarely pick one up.
Call Down the Hawk (Dreamer Trilogy, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater was Excellent and the most recent YA I've read !! Spin off of the Raven Boys

Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley not an excellent read but was pretty good.

The Grace Year by Kim Liggett was excellent kind of a YA The Handmaid's Tale (The Handmaid's Tale, #1) by Margaret Atwood

Sky in the Deep (Sky in the Deep, #1) by Adrienne Young I loved

The Institute by Stephen King Excellent and looking forward to the movie or series I dont recall which they are doing.

thats about it for me in the last year or longer , I've been reading mostly psychological thrillers , domestic thrillers , historical fiction, fiction ..... Mostly books I never would have touched a few years ago !!

Kasey | 284 comments I just started in on the second half of the Shatter Me series. I was pretty iffy, and so far I'm withholding judgement. I think that final book will decide how I feel about these last 3 books. Defy Me and Restore Me.

I'm also currently listening to Children of Virtue and Vengeance

But like Laura I'm reading a lot of thrillers and mysteries, which was not my genre a few years ago!

OMG there's more books?!! I was just debating re-reading this series and had no clue Mafi had continued past book 3! The Shatter Me series was my fave dystopian, I'm scared they won't live up to it since I kinda thought that was the HEA. lol

Awesome, thank you! I'm going to pick up Sky in the Deep now, that looks really good!

I joined a local book club and they rarely read anything with any romance, so it's gotten me outside my usual genres. I love the thrillers and mysteries too, but I always fall back on YA and PNR for an escape read =)

Kasey | 284 comments HAHA! The 6th book in the Shatter Me series comes out at the end of March. So far it's not a let down, but everything is hinging on the wrap up. I'll make sure to update everyone haha!

Also, Sky in the Deep is freaking amazing! She has a follow up that is the same world but not the same main character The Girl the Sea Gave Back (Sky in the Deep, #2) by Adrienne Young

And it is just as good as Sky in the Deep!

Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments I have it !! It is in my lineup TBR this month.

I enjoyed the first two books from the series Goddess Test by Carter. Not real sure why I haven't finished this series. Maybe I should. How are you liking the Simon Thorn books Melissa?

I tried reading The Institute but I couldn't get into it. Maybe I didn't give it enough time. Is it a slow starter Laura?

I started to read [book:Children of Blood and Bone|34728667] but put it down for some reason. I should try this one again. I didn't care for for the Shatter Me series. I know you guys loved it but for some reason it just annoyed me.
