Lisa Just finished Dead Angler by Victoria Houston. Enjoyed this book. If you enjoy the outdoors and fishing will enjoy this book. Great start to a series, will be checking out the others in the series.

message 5: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Just Finished Lethal Letters by Ellery Adams. I love this series and this latest book in the series didn't disappoint. I highly recommend this series and in reading it from the beginning. They can be read as standalone's but you miss the growth of the characters which is a big part of each book.

message 6: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Just finished Literally Murder by Ali Brandon. This is the 4th book in this series. Unlike the other three this one takes place in Florida but that doesn't prevent Hamlet the cat from solving the mystery. Really love this series and love Hamlet he's an amazing cat that you want to keep on your good side.

message 7: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished A Touch of Gold by Joyce and Jim Lavene. This is the second one in the series and really enjoyed the growth of the characters. The mystery was fun will be reading the next one in the series.

message 8: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished Playing with Fire by J. J. Cook. Gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Great characters including a ghost and a cute dalmatian puppy named Hero. I would recommend this series and though can be read out of order would be better if read in order.

message 9: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished Pretty Poison by Joyce and Jim Lavene. Three out of four stars. Great store to a new series. Loved getting to know the characters. Mystery was fun and had some twists. I had figured it out before the end but took awhile for me to get there. Will be checking out the rest of the series

message 10: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished Book Clubbed by Lorna Barrett. 5 out 5 stars. A great adventure with bookstore owner Tricia and her cat Miss Marple and her culinary sister Angelica. I love this series and each book just seems to get better.

message 11: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished A Spirited Gift by Joyce and Jim Lavene. This was a fun mystery with a very spirited ghost pirate. This is the third in this series and so far the best of the three.

message 12: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Just finished Spell Booked by Joyce and Jim Lavene. Great start to a new series. Three witches are getting ready to retire and need to find new witches to take their place. It's going slow when one of them is killed. I really enjoyed this book and all four of the main witches have cats that they can communicate with.

I think I'll look for this one. I need a "retelling" for a different challenge and this sounds like it might fit the bill.

Lisa Finished A Seamless Murder by Melissa Bourbon. I love this series and this one was very good. Had lots of twists and turns.

message 18: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished Knot in my Backyard by Mary Marks. I highly recommend this series. This is the second one in the series and really love the characters and it was a great mystery.

message 19: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished We'll Always have Parrots by Donna Andrews. I love love this series. This series is so funny and love the developing relationship between Meg and Michael. Each book is named after birds and in this one the parrots have a big part to play.

message 20: by Karen (new)

Karen (xkamx) | 444 comments WOW... I love Joyce and Jim Lavene's Misisng Pieces Mystery Series and have a couple of their others on my TBR. The Retired Witches Mystery Series has just been added! Thanks!

The Fairy Tale Fatal Mystery Series sounds like a fun one, too.

Ack! I'm having a love-hate relationship with these boards. Love hearing about new books, but hate that there are too many to get to!!

Was very excited to Diesel the Maine Coon cat from Miranda James other series visiting in the debut of this new series. It's a great start and looking forward to the next in the series.

message 24: by Susie (new)

Susie | 257 comments And another new series to explore...I used to have a Maine Coon Cat...crossed eyed and personality plus...so these will be must reads for me!

message 25: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished Death of a Crabby Cook. This is first in a new series About Food Festival Mystery and is a fun read about the newest craze of food trucks. I enjoyed the start of this series and look forward to the next one in June. Includes some great recipes at the end of the book.

message 26: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Just finished Madness in Miniature by Margaret Grace. I love this series it is so much fun learning all the hints to make items for miniature houses out of every day items.

message 27: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished Woof at the Door by Laura Morrigan. I highly recommend this series it was great. Grace is able to communicate with animals and this gets her into some very funny situations. I love her wolf hybrid Moss. Can't wait to check the next one out in the series.

message 28: by Susie (new)

Susie | 257 comments Thanks for the heads up on this series...added to my tbr list. I'll get to it...someday!

message 29: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 29 comments I love Laura Morrigan's Call of the Wilde series. I just finished the newest book, Horse of a Different Killer last week. It was a wonderful story.

message 30: by Lisa (new)

Lisa I can't wait to read the next two.

message 31: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Completed A Haunting Dream by Joyce and Jim Lavene. This series just gets better and better. The hints at the end of this one make me very excited to read the next in the series.

message 32: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished The Pickled Piper y Mary Ellen Hughes. Fun start to a new series for me. Enjoyed the characters like most first books was a little bogged down with getting to know the characters but this series has lots of potential and will check more out. Loved the pickling recipes included in the back of the book.

message 33: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished Owls Well that Ends Well by Donna Andrews. I love this series and each one just seems to get better. Meg and Michael's relationship keeps growing in each book, and we get to meet more of Meg's very strange and funny family. The birds in this one are the barn owls roosting in Meg and Michael's barn.

message 34: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Discovered for me a new series A Haunted Souvenir Shop Mystery. Really enjoyed the first one Murder Buys a T-Shirt by Christy Fifield. Had a great mystery and was fun with the ghost of Uncle Louis and a vey naughty talking parrot named Bluebeard.

message 35: by Amy the book-bat (new)

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 20 comments Murder Buys a T-Shirt sounds like a fun title... looks like another for my TBR list

message 36: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Just finished A Tiger's Tale by Laura Morrigan. This was the second one in the series and it was even better than the first. Really recommend this series, can't wait to read the third one. This one has a new member of the family a new kitten named Voodoo and has a new hero a miniature donkey with the name Jack-Jack.

message 37: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Finished Shear Trouble with Elizabeth Craig. I love this series and enjoy the different quilts they talk about. Really enjoy the corgi Noo-noo and the very excitable dog Boris.

message 38: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Just finished The Question of the Missing Head by E.J. Copperman and Jeff Cohen. I enjoyed this book immensely and highly recommend it. In this first of a series we meet Samuel Hoenig who is very intelligent but always has Asperger's. Samuel likes to answer questions and will work hard to get any question answered. The authors do a wonderful job of having Samuel use his differences to his advantage. I think if we all took the time to enjoy and understand the differences in people the world would be a better place.

I like Jeff Cohen. I've only read on of his series, but it was so enjoyable, well written comic mysteries with a likable hero. I have his others series TBR, but this was not on my list. It is now. Thanks!
