The Tome Inquisitor (alxjalmeida) | 4 comments Hi there fellow SWBCers! I am currently reading "A New Dawn" by John Jackson Miller. If anybody else is currently reading this book or have read it recently, please use this thread to discuss the book!!

The Tome Inquisitor (alxjalmeida) | 4 comments @Benjamin Akers - so far I am liking A New Dawn. noticed you are currently in the Wheel of Time series. I too have that on my TBR list .. wondering if I should get on it given the TV series is coming! :)

Desmond Shepherd (desmondshepherd) | 45 comments Wow! I read this so long ago. I think 2015. Good setup for Rebels itself. I recall enjoying it. Hope you do too!

Don Brown (donkbrown) I am resurrecting this thread because it is this book's sixth anniversary this month! John Jackson Miller's A New Dawn novel kicked-off the publishing content for the new Star Wars literary canon in September 2014. As noted above, it is also a prequel treatment to the Star Wars Rebels television series, which ran from 2014 to 2018. A New Dawn was also released in the Star Wars: The Rise of the Empire compilation of October 2015.

This book club read A New Dawn in September 2016 and it was the club's seventh book. I was not a member back then. :( I have not read A New Dawn , yet. I will try to get to it early next year. I am a huge fan of Star Wars Rebels and I look forward to finally reading this book. Love me some Kanan and Hera!

May the Force be with you.

Brandan | 6 comments This was a really fun read. I read it a couple years ago when I first started reading again. I really like Kanan and Hera and this is a great start to their relationship. It was an easy read and gives good insight to how Kanan was able to try and live life during the beginning of the empire. I will probably read this book again at some point, but I do recommend it.

Nice. I am glad to hear your thoughts on this and the positive comments. You've convinced me to move it up on my To Read list to get to it sooner.

As I am apt to do, here is more material about Kanan, Hera and the other members of the Ghost crew for interested readers in reading order.

19 BBY: Kanan from Marvel Comics issues 7 to 11.
19 BBY: Kanan from Marvel Comics issues 1 and 2.
18 BBY: Kanan from Marvel Comics issues 4 and 5.
14 BBY: "Mercy Mission" in Star Wars: The Rise of the Empire .
11 BBY: A New Dawn.
5 BBY: The events of the Star Wars Rebels television show begin.
4 BBY: Kanan from Marvel Comics issues 6 and 12.
0 BBY: The events of the Star Wars Rebels television show end (in fantastic fashion, I must add!).

There are also tons of other material for Rebels for young readers and kids 12-years-old and less. Let me know if you want to know more about other content associated with the crew of the Ghost.

May the Force be with you.
