All right, after much drama, let's dedicate a thread to the grand empress of sarcasm, the master of wit, and someone who's always up for an intelligent conversation. (NO, I'm not talking about myself. I said EMPRESS, get it?)

Who else, but the brilliant Bengal tigress, Shinjini aka Shin aka Baby Mod aka a couple of names that refer to a certain football player or a cartoon character (but we'll not take those names for fear of getting me killed).

Thanks for (co)winning this one, Shin. Here are some of my questions:

1. If one day, you were told that an unknown disease had permanently taken away your ability to crack sarcastic one-liners, how would you react?

Oh I sure do hope this never happens and that none of you have to see this because it is going to be major ANARCHY!!! If the apocalypse doesn't happen by then, I'll make it happen!

First, whoever is going to deliver that news to me is going to get whacked. Big time. Next, I'll wail the hospital/house down because that is the worst thing that could happen to someone like me. I use more than any normal person's daily quota of sarcasm in an hour! Or less! A life without sarcasm is very hard to imagine and is going to be even harder to live!

Third, I'll find a cure for my condition even if it's the last thing I do. (Well I hope that isn't the last thing I do.)

Also, Sumit you are a sadist and I hate you.

No, I'm not a sadist - I just think the ability to be sarcastic is to be cherished and revered. (I once promised to be non-sarcastic for a day. Lasted barely 5 minutes :P)

Who are the people you feel most influenced by? And why?

Oh! The Teletubbies!

Because, I mean, who can be purple, yellow, green or red and dance like that in front of the world? (Answer: Nobody!) They influence me to dance without inhibition. :P

Alright, poor jokes apart, my major influences are my parents and my brother because all that I am is thanks to them. My thought processes, though my own, have been given a stimulus to by them. I am hugely indebted to my family for making me be able to think for myself. It's a wonder how rare and special a quality this is, especially in these times where many people like being spoonfed.

I am going to cheat and add some of my inspirations in this answer. And they are: parents and the brother, some scientists, Biologists mostly, because that is what I want to be someday.

A major inspiration for me are people from not-so-blessed backgrounds who achieve big things on sheer merit. It makes me want to do something with my life with all that my parents have been able to provide for me. These people remind me that my problems aren't the biggest problems in the world. There are people who are suffering much worse ordeals with a smile on their face. Who wouldn't be inspired by these people? This thought helps when I am feeling too lazy, especially on a winter morning like today. :P

Apparently, I get influenced and inspired by a lot of people but put it all to good use by sleeping. (Yeah, I kinda feel sorry for myself too :P)

If they ever make a movie about your life, who do you think should play you and why?

On sheer acting talent, Meryl Streep, but she will be too old, right?

If Jennifer Lawrence can be made to look like me (I won't complain if I'm made to look like her either, I'm sure we can compromise) then she should totally play me. I am a big blabbermouth with no filter, just like her and her personality and mine are somewhat similar (or so I'd like to think).

In Bollywood, I have no idea who could play me. On current box office records, maybe Deepika Padukone because she's tall too. No idea about her personality. Or Bipasha Basu because she is Bengali too and of similar height. I can't think of anyone else.

I can't really think of any actress who looks like me so I would take off the difficult casting decision off the producers' hands and volunteer to act myself. (They may pay me in millions and give me an oscar, I wouldn't mind.)

It's pretty difficult typing so much on the phone. So much more respect for the people who access GR on phone. Anyways, the next one.

What would you rate as the best thing you've ever done for anyone?

Are you asking me to toot my own horn? Because I can totally do it! :P

I believe the best thing anyone can ever do for another person is give them their time because time is the one thing you can never get back. I try to do that for people who need it. And to be honest, I like knowing that I can be there for someone when they need a shoulder to lean on, a person to talk to so I'm pretty selfish when I do that, I guess.

Also, I volunteer at some places when I can. I don't like to talk about it so I'll just say that I enjoy doing anything that can help the less privileged. I was about a year old when my father took me and my brother to a village where he used to volunteer at, so we could see how simply but happily people live there. I have spent a chunk of my childhood in that village, with people who couldn't even afford to feed themselves sometimes. The one thing my parents keep repeating to me is that I need to study well and grow up so I can do something for the underprivileged when I am able to. I carry these lessons with me everywhere I go.

So see? I can be good too! Only sometimes though. :P

I dunno if this is an easy question to answer. You may choose not to. I don't know how old you are either. 1.Have you lived long enough to have any major regrets?
OK and now an easier one. 2. Would you describe your go to happy place? You know the place we all have inside that we retreat to.. No particular reason for asking this question...I'm just in the mood for one of your word portraits.

Although in this case it'd be a landscape. Unless of course your go-to place is a person. And I wouldn't mind hearing about that either ;-)
