awesome info, thank you!

It immediately grabbed my attention from the start especially a (view spoiler) comes along. And the (view spoiler)
I was a bit put off when Isla kept thinking of (view spoiler) but now I know why. The author also wrote a companion story that could serve as a sequel to this one. http://www.lightspeedmagazine.com/fic...
More Robot Country please!

Happy to assist!
The sequel was not as entertaining but it'll tell you what happened next.

ETA: Finished. Such a cute one! But it felt like a prologue. The wow-feeling I like for short stories was missing.
... just opened your spoilers, Silvana. Yes, same here to all three.
Now I have to look up the sequel. Did you already read it, Joelle?

Novelettes: Your Perfect Lunch Companion.
I think I'll read “The Archronology of Love“ by Caroline M. Yoachim next. Before we know it, we'll be finishing all the Locus recommended novelette lists ;p

Not yet! Hoping to get to it later today: I've left that browser window open to remind me. ;-)
It's fun to have short encounters with so many (new to me) authors!

Novelettes: Your Perfect Lunch Companion...."
👍 The length often is perfect. And it is much more fun to read with others.
I've read the sequel now. While it has some good background informations for the worldbuilding it didn't work for me in terms of structure. It felt more like a chapter from a book than like a short story.

Sounds like she'll soon publish more Robot Country stories. :-)
We'll be reading this novelette throughout February. Post comments and use spoiler tags when necessary.
I have never read anything from this author before so I am looking forward to it, especially since the title is so intriguing.
