Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor

I gave this book 4 stars.

A group of English historians discover time travel. They keep their time traveling secret, but use it to return to key points in history to witness events first-hand. The group is a little rag-tag, but also very dedicated to preserving history.

The book combines some very dry British humor, an interesting cast of characters and an interesting story line. There are some twists and turns which were unexpected.

You may be wondering how this fits in with "survival". So without giving any spoilers, let's just say that in this book, time travel is dangerous - and time likes to fight back! The book has a lot of pretty gruesome violence.

This is the first book in a series so there was a bit of building the setting, which was interesting too.

I thought this was a fun series idea. I read the first few and your review reminds me I should get back to it.

I enjoyed the first book in the series, got as far as book 3 plus three short stories, then I got bored with it as it didn't seem to go anywhere.

Loved this one as well, and have ‘To Say Nothing of the Dog’ queued up. I suspect it would work for ‘survival’ too!
