Ultimate Popsugar Reading Challenge discussion

So I completely missed the noms and voting for the monthly reads. There was nothing posted in announcements (although I don’t think that’s a great solution either because as it’s a locked thread there’s no way to follow it and get notifications.) And because there no longer a nomination thread, I had no idea it was going on. I’m assuming it was mentioned in the weekly threads but I don’t post in those so I rarely read them. Can you find a better method for those of us who want to participate but either don’t check goodreads everyday? you used to send out group wide messages which I found very handy but even just a (followable)post on the monthly board would be nice.

I agree and I never miss the voting. Didn’t see anything for it at all

We are aware that communication for these events has been difficult. I reached out to Goodreads for help regarding the use of the announcement thread, but I need to circle back around on it. I'm sorry you missed this round. Until we find a better method, it's always a good idea to check the weekly thread. you don't have to read all the posts but if we have anything important to share it will be in the very first comment in bold.

I'm in the addicted to YA group and they seem to open polls the first week of the month and end them at the end of the month. However they have 4 books for the group to read each month. I only joined this group at the start of the year so I'm not 100% sure that they stick to that format but you could ask the group moderators.

Nadine and I have discussed this issue thoroughly. We have decided that announcements of this sort will be made in the weekly threads on Thursdays. We typically have the threads open between 6-8 am EST. Any admin notes and links are put in bold print near the top of the first post.

We will be deleting the announcement threads. For a group this size, and with the level of spamming we get, this makes the most sense.
