Finally starting

I'll be starting tomorrow!

I wanted to start this one today, but I am CRAZY busy with finals AND yearbook pages due Friday. I'll try starting tomorrow, but I don't know if I'll be able to read much.

I didn't make it far yesterday but I hope to catch up on books the next few days :D

Each time I think I'll catch up I have more to do at work. Seniors are asking for letters of recommendation, my son and his daughter come over and that totally disrupts my grading, blah blah blah. I have yearbook students staying after school to work. All I want to do is read!!!! Lol

So far I've just read the prologue through part of chapter 2, but I'm loving it! Prologue was basically just a recap, but chapter one threw us right back into the action and excitement I loved so much from the first book! I can't wait to keep reading! :)

it was nice to get a recap tho :)

I'll post more tomorrow but I love knowing there's action right off :D

I love those recaps because I hardly ever remember much. Sometimes I can't even remember the main characters' names. LOL And since you just read it, you can recap it wherever we need it, right? LOL

I'm going to do my best to read a decent chunk of it today but I have to finish Psion Beta by tomorrow and return it or that book is $1 each day late and I can't renew it. Here's hoping!

I'm so excited because I STARTED!!! LOL I read the prologue and I loved it! Some people who were reading book 1 with me were confused. I think the prologue or some version of it would have helped. It's an excellent prologue!

Finished with Ch. 5 and I agree with you, Trisha. I like Rose not only a lot better than in the first book, but I love her. I haven't even figured out what it is that I love about her yet, but I do. LOL

Rose (view spoiler)[is so fun! I love how she wants to be a really good guardian. Her test day was a shock to me! I couldn't believe that it started right off with Arthur being murdered along with all those others. It had ME scared of the Strigoi. LOL (hide spoiler)]

Dimitri (view spoiler)[is a little flirt as well as cocky. Or is that just me? But I still like him. I do think he has Rose's best interest at heart. (hide spoiler)]

Tasha (view spoiler)[seems like a strong person and so far like her character but I'm not sure how much we'll see of her. I like that she protected Christian. (hide spoiler)]

Rose's (view spoiler)[mother and their confrontation was something else. Rose is very bitter toward her and I can understand why. Although Rose might understand her mother's "abandonment" better now that she's learned through Tasha, but I don't think she's really over it. Her mother still had choices. (hide spoiler)]

I don't know why but I like (view spoiler)[Dimitri and Rose's relationship. It is a bit frustrating, yes, but they do have a "spell" on them that makes them lusty for each other so I think that's why I like it. It's kind of funny more than irritating. (hide spoiler)]

Adiran (view spoiler)[is definitely a new character as far as I remember. Weird one, right? (hide spoiler)]

Rose being (view spoiler)[inside Lissa's head when she and Christian had their little hot to trot make out session wasn't gross to me, I guess because it wasn't too vulgar; however, it was uncomfortable, or I know I'D be uncomfortable and not want to be inside her head/body while that was going on. I feel like Rose is (view spoiler)[jumping to conclusions about Dimitiri and Tasha. Just because it would "make sense" to her mother that the two would team up and ... "team up" doesn't mean HE wants to. (hide spoiler)]

I'm really loving this one! More than the first one so far.

It also doesn't bother me that (view spoiler)[ Lissa isn't in this one as much. There isn't really much to tell about her right now. She's in love, doing lovey-lovey things, that's all we need to know! I get the feeling she's going to play a bigger part again when her powers come back into play. The pills starting not to work anymore seems like foreshadowing for some sort of darkness she'll experience. But I'm sure our shadow-kissed Rose guardian will save her! :) (hide spoiler)]

I'm so sad about what happened to Mason, but he was a pretty stagnant character anyway. Nothing was going to happen with him and Rose...so one way or another he was bound to get hurt. I totally agree, Vicki! I'm pretty impressed that (view spoiler)[a novice like Rose was able to take down such an old vampire like Isaiah. I'm glad she is really feeling the kills, not just blowing them off and being happy about them. It makes it more realistic to me. Even knowing the strigoi SHOULD die, the act of killing should never be taken lightly. (hide spoiler)]
