Hi, I am new to this group and actually joined it when I saw that this book is one of the selections for this month. (And I look forward to reading Spring next month.) Tolstaya's collection has been on my TBR list for too long and it motivated me to finally read it. I am so glad I did it and want to join in the praise. One of the rare books that, right upon reading it, I went back to re-read a couple of stories to my partner. Now he is reading it!
I will open the spoiler thread(s) tomorrow. I'm not sure whether we should split it and if not how to subdivide the discussion.

Thanks for pointing that out Mark - it should be fixed now. I linked the wrong discussion folder to the bookshelf record.
Tatyana Tolstaya "is a Russian writer, TV host, publicist, novelist, and essayist from the Tolstoy family, known for her fiction and "acerbic essays on contemporary Russian life" (Wikipedia).
This book is a recent collection of her later stories, and covers a wide range of places and subject matter, with stories set in Russia, America and Western Europe, many of which read like memoirs.

I hope some of you will join this discussion - I found this book a very enjoyable and interesting read.
