15.1 - Eurovision Song Contest
The 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in May 2020.

This is a 2 book task. Read one Book 1 and one Book 2.

Choose a song that has won the Eurovision Song Contest.

Book 1: Read a book with a TITLE of at least 3 words for which the initial letter of each word can be found in the title of the song. Subtitles are excluded. Diacritical marks may be ignored.

AND

Book 2: Read a book written by a single author whose first and last initials can be found in the name of the same song's performer(s). Diacritical marks may be ignored.

Required: Identify the song when you post.

No, the first and last initials just has to be found in performer's name. So, for example, if you used the song "Save Your Kisses for Me" (1976 winning song) for book 1, the first and last initials of the author for book 2 has to be found in Brotherhood of Man.

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3675 comments Can you ignore accents?

For example, could you use "iu te reconnaÎtras", by Anne-Marie David (1976) for a non-accented I?

Yes, that fits the requirements for Book 1. The author of your Book 2 will need to have initials that can be found in Katrina and the Waves.

Jen K | 985 comments Could I just confirm my understanding from the FAQs? If I read a book by Simone St. James for book 2, the first and last initials to match the performer's name would be SJ only? Thanks!!

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11204 comments Kaora wrote: "Surrender by Ray Loriga. Can I read this for LORDI or does the translator count?"

Translators are not considered a second author. Here's the reference from the FAQs: "8. Do illustrators and translators count as authors for SRC purposes?
No. Only authors that are identified as authors (or a default blank in the author role field), co-authors, or contributors may be used for tasks involving author information. Other roles or functions such as editor, illustrator, artist, translator, introduction, designed by, foreword, preface, assistant or afterword may not be used for author-sourced tasks."

So, yes, Surrender by Ray Loriga can be used for Book 2.
