Dani (yogidani) | 10 comments Well, since I've been to Pike's Peak, I thought it only fitting that I begin my 2015 journey there. This is my first time joining this challenge, and I look forward to seeing what books I can clear off of my TBR pile!

Good luck, Dani! Hopefully, you'll be able to visit other peaks as well.

Dani (yogidani) | 10 comments Thanks so much! I'd love to be able to scale all of them by the end of the year. As a geologist, I love the mountain theme, so I'm excited to begin my climb! Thanks for setting up this awesome challenge!

Pamela | 37 comments Hi Dani, good luck with your reading climb!

Since you're a geologist...do you know of any good related fiction books? I have a family member who is studying to be a geologist (she already has a good rock collection too!). I'd love to get her a book or two that fits. Thanks -Pamela

Dani (yogidani) | 10 comments Hey Pamela! I actually don't know of any, though I'd love to find some. That's so awesome about your family member. It's such an awesome profession, and I've had a number of great opportunities because of it. I'll be on the lookout for some cool fiction reads (for her and myself), and if I find some, I'll definitely let you know! I guess, for me, I'm often drawn to books that take place in the mountains and even historical fiction/archaeology types as well.

Dani (yogidani) | 10 comments Book 1
Breakaway from The Dartmouth Cobras Series by Bianca Sommerland
Date Completed: 1/4/15
Source: Kindle
Rating: ★★★
This book was okay. It wasn't my favorite of the series, but I love hockey, so that helped to make the story a bit better.

Dani's Confession:
I've been struggling so far this year with clearing my TBR because I got hooked on a couple of new series that I've unfortunately acquired after the new year began. I'm going to have to try to alternate readings so that I can fit in my TBR reads while still keeping up with the new series. Oh the struggle!

Dani (yogidani) | 10 comments Book 2
Lover Reborn from The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward
Date Completed: 1/14/15
Source: Audiobook
Rating: ★★★
It wasn't my favorite book of the series, but it was good. I found myself interested in some of the side plots more than that of the main characters.

Dani (yogidani) | 10 comments Book 3
Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
Date Completed: 1/20/15
Source: Kindle
Rating: ★★★
I honestly didn't get the hype. It was a decent story, and having a deaf male MC was an interesting twist, but the writing was a bit juvenile for me. I felt like I was 16 reading some fanfic on some random site.

Dani (yogidani) | 10 comments Book 4
Offside from The Dartmouth Cobras Series by Bianca Sommerland
Date Completed: 1/26/15
Source: Kindle
Rating: ★★★★
I enjoyed this book more than the previous one in the series. Becky's daughter was absolutely precious, and I loved seeing Dean and Luke's relationship with baby Amia. Something about strong, grown men gushing over little babies is so heart-warming. There were a number of different plot lines addressed in this story, and I'm interested to see what happens in the next book.

Dani (yogidani) | 10 comments Book 5
Night by Elie Wiesel
Date Completed: 1/29/15
Source: Paperback
Rating: ★★★★★
I'm just going to leave a link to my review here. For such a quick read, this book is so very powerful.

Thank you! I'd be farther except I started a couple of new series this month that I don't already own (and of course I got hooked). Silly me. :D
