Chanur's Venture by C.J. Cherryh
As a science fiction reader who loves great aliens... I'm ashamed that it's taken me almost 40 years to read this series! ha! This is the 2nd book in the series. Fast paced, and like the first, I don't always understand the "whys". I had to re-read the 1st book to understand all the nuances that it contained, I'm sure the same will go for this one.
