I haven't been to Galaxy's Edge yet, but I recognized a lot of the flora and fauna from my Black Spire Outpost Cookbook I got for Christmas! Fried tip yip (which Jules eats in the book) and puffer pig are recipes in the book, as well as golden lichen and ronto wraps. I haven't had the occassion to try every recipe in the book, but I can tell you the recipes that I have tried are pretty legit; like the people who designed the recipes and wrote the fun "historical" tidbits (Xizor salad!!) were really into what they were doing and had fun making the book. I know this is off topic but I know a lot of these foods and drinks are served at the theme park (probably much better, albeit way more expensive, than what I can make at home!)
I'm about halfway through the book and would love to come back here and discuss it more. I'm not sure what to think about. I don't really love YA typically... enjoying this one way more than the Force Collector.

The book also seemed poorly edited. There were several sentences that seemed out of place, like a whole paragraph had been edited out which left a sentence dangling in the next paragraph with no prior reference.
I get that part of my lack of enjoyment is due to it being a young adult novel, but not all young adult novels have to be this low of a caliber.
I don't regret reading it, and I am glad that more Star Wars novels exist and if this book helps hook one young person into the franchise, it's all worth it. Just not my cup of tea and I'm left craving some better quality literature.

I get that. There was this constant back and forth of them having trouble dealing with their feelings with one another. Didn't feel like it dragged to me too much, though I was glad when the story finally got to the point after their "swim" and they had solidfied their feelings in the story.

So far, I'm enjoying getting to learn a little bit about Batuu!
