The young man's parents were dead I think and his dad was either a cop or a journalist. He's sent to prison in the beginning of this book and someone who believes in him decides to investigate the truth behind the murder.
I remember the big plot twist at the end (view spoiler)[ Someone very close to the boy or his parents framed him for murder to put him in jail in order to show how flawed the justice system is. It was something about executing innocent people. (hide spoiler)]
