Hi Susan,
Well, I've found this works in the other group I moderate, and has done for quite a few years now. It discourages the trollers!
Yes, it is distracting at the beginning, but you soon get used to refreshing your screen if it covers anything up (this applies to me too, remember!)
Let's see how it goes. I certainly want to keep it in place for now. So many people belong to several groups, which all have different specs, and find they might inadvertently break a rule.
Sorry this is not the answer you hoped for.

I'm Agnes Spellman, and I'm thrilled to join this English mystery community! I'm a cozy mystery author with a twist—I create murder mysteries set (so far!) in the glamorous 1920s, featuring word searches that provide clues to help readers solve the case. My passion for cozy mysteries and classic Agatha Christie-style whodunnits inspired me to blend puzzles and suspense for a unique reading experience.
I'm new to Goodreads and groups like this one, so I hope this introductory post is okay. I plan on being an active part of this wonderful community—after all, books are way better than reality!
Looking forward to chatting with you all!Agnes Spellman
Hi Agnes! Welcome, but this is just our rules thread (which is particularly important for authors to read) You might like to introduce yourself to everyone LINK HERE.
Also, because we are a reading group, we have a special folder for readers who write, LINK HERE. You are most welcome to describe your books there.
Also, because we are a reading group, we have a special folder for readers who write, LINK HERE. You are most welcome to describe your books there.
Please read and follow these rules, so we can all have a great time, and stay safe here.
1. Follow the golden rule (ie., treat others how you would like to be treated).
2. Have fun, be an active member and join in.
3. No inappropriate behaviour is allowed ie., no swearing, cyber-bullying, or disrespect of any sort eg. of political opinions or religious beliefs. Any political content is likely to be deleted from the club.
4. Only the moderator of this group can post threads to the book club. This is to avoid duplication, and to keep the group organised. If you would like a thread to be set up, please ask the moderator. Thanks!
5. If you are an author as well as a reader, you may do book promotions, but only in the promotions folder. You may also advertise your blog in this folder. However, please also join in with our reading activities, and be aware that if you promote your book anywhere other than author promotions thread, then the post will be deleted.
6. Please be aware that if you break any of the group rules regarding respect for our members, you will receive one warning, and if this is ignored you will then be removed from the group. Also, please know that the moderator reserves the right to delete any posts which are considered offensive or inappropriate.
Please keep all our rules. They are all important, and are there to help us all enjoy our group and have fun. Thanks!
