Allan Karlsson is 100 years old and doesn’t want to go to the planned party at the nursing home. So as the title indicates, he climbs out of a window and disappears. Luckily, we are taken along on his adventures which include a suitcase with a LOT of cash, new friends, a couple of unintended deaths, and an elephant. These adventures are interwoven with his “Forrest Gump” like tale of his life, starting with the early years when he learned to make dynamite. I don’t know how the book is to read, but it is laugh-out-loud to listen to on a long car trip.
