Has anyone started the book? What are your thoughts so far? First impressions?

BookishBoricua | 8 comments I'm picking it up tomorrow. Can't wait to get started! I saw a YouTube video interview with the author and the premise of the series seems so fun.

Hello friends!

How is the reading going? Did any of you finish the book?

This was my second time reading the book and I loved it even more than the first time! The magic, the food, the sisters' relationship (I agree, Sofia!)... this is the perfect description of cozy and warm read. If you can, I highly recommended getting to book 2! That one talks more about how the magic works and family's history and there's more adventure and friendship than ever!

This was my second time reading the book as well and I loved it just as much the second time around. I love the emphasis on family and especially loved the different dynamics between sisters. I appreciated that Meriano gave each girl a different kind of relationship with magic. For Leo, she can't help but be drawn to it, but it was interesting to see someone like Marisol not enjoy it as much as the others.

Marisol would make such an amazing YA protagonist! I'd read a whole book about her! I'm definitely very eager to check out the 2nd book because the family dynamics were incredible.
