Malvina (malvina85) | 34 comments 2014 books that I've bought but not yet read are
- Untamed State
- Wonder of All Things
- Girl with all the Gifts
- Queen of the Tearling
- a few other new gems I found at book outlet.

So it'll have to be one of those for me.

Whichever you want!

Karin (8littlepaws) | 119 comments I'm going to consider it means 2015 and I am going to hold off til later in the year to pick this one! Maybe I will save this as my final challenge.

Yes, he does and it's probably going to be my choice for this one!

The Buried Giant

message 11: by Liese (new)

Liese I'm going to read one book for each task instead of one book that covers three or four different tasks. Expand my horizons a little bit...

message 12: by Kelli (new)

Kelli Robinson (kellifrobinson) I will probably save this category for last so I have time to study the 2015 landscape first.

message 13: by Rainey (new)

Rainey | 241 comments I plan on reading a book from this year. Brown Girl Dreaming or Liesmith.

Victoria (RedsCat) (redscat) "This year" meaning 2014 or 2015? Thanks :)

message 15: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 21 comments I was lucky enough to get an ARC of All The Bright Places at the ALA conference last summer. I read it right away. It was amazing!! Highly recommend it! It's being released on January 6th.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm super excited for Gail Carriger's new book Prudence coming out in March so I'll definitely be reading that for this task. Maybe more, we'll see what all I pick up this year.

message 17: by ☕Laura (new)

☕Laura | 30 comments I am excited for The Wolf Border which is due to be published this year, since I love, love, love Sarah Hall so I may go with that one.

message 26: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Doherty | 10 comments Descent is on my list also!

message 27: by janine (new)

janine I think I'll do both a book from 2014 and 2015 for this task. Just because I've already read a 2014 book and there'll be plenty time to pick a 2015 book.

message 28: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Bacall (hipmamajenn) | 1 comments I just finished my first book for the challenge, Vanessa and Her Sister by Priya Parmar. It's historical fiction about Virginia Woolf and her sister, painter Vanessa Fry.

message 30: by Rosemary (new)

Rosemary | 11 comments I'm counting it as 2015 because I've already read a few 2014 books.

This is obscure, but one of my favorite bloggers (Leah Libresco) has a book coming out in 2015. I've preordered it on Amazon, so I will be reading that for sure!

At least one other of my favorite bloggers ALSO has a book coming out....and I am psyched for Kazuo Ishiguro coming out with a new book because Remains of the Day is one of my all-time favorites.

message 31: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia (cynthiabaxter) Holy Cow! Started Paula Hawkins' The Girl on the Train last night and finished it in one sitting at 0730 this morning.

...was just a wee nervous having a glass of wine with dinner this evening...

message 32: by Michael (new)

Michael (union_cannoneer) | 25 comments For myself, I'm counting it as 2015. The Just City by Jo Walton looks interesting to me, but I may hold off on this task until later in the year.

message 33: by Mindy (new)

Mindy Jones (mindyrecycles) I was waiting to hear about something that struck my fancy and The Girl on the Train did the trick. :-) The Kindle book was $11.99 then I noticed it was about $6 the other day and snatched it up. Now today it's $9.09. Weird!

I've been checking the Kindle Bestseller list every day. If there's a good deal on a popular book, it will appear there.

message 34: by Danielle (new)

Danielle | 71 comments Checked this off with "Fairest" book 4 of the Lunar Chronicles. It would also work as a sci-fi but I am trying not to double up. I will probably read a lot more books published this year. This one is just the first.

message 35: by Karen (new)

Karen I'm reading A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler for this task. I'm about half way through it and enjoying it, but I'm an Anne Tyler fan. Don't know if she is for everyone. I enjoy her quiet quirkiness.

message 36: by Pat (new)

Pat Bryan | 21 comments 2015-"Get in Trouble"-Kelly Link-fairy tales for grown -ups.

message 37: by Ellie (new)

Ellie M (elliemcc11) I've just read Hausfrau which I got as an ARC from Netgalley. Published in March I think. Really liked it, but I'd steer clear if you aren't keen on reading about psychoanalysis, marriage & adultery, & (infrequent) sex scenes.

message 38: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E I finished All the Light We Cannot See. Beautiful story and sentences.

message 39: by Dy (new)

Dy (dynila) I got lucky on this one. I got an ARC of Rodin's Lover from First to Read and didn't get around to reading it til January :-)

message 40: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Rao | 24 comments Finished The Girl on the Train The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins for this task.

message 41: by nadia (new)

nadia (nadiaj) I plan on reading "The Sellout" by Paul Beatty, comes out next week!

message 42: by Marti (new)

Marti | 5 comments Just finished First Frost (Waverley Family #2) by Sarah Addison Allen for this task. It was delightful. I have had the opportunity to meet Sarah Addison Allen at two book signings and she is as delightful as her books are. I love it when that happens :)

message 43: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizsvoboda) | 15 comments Reading Anne Bishop's Vision in Silver. I've been waiting a year for this book and just got it today and it will be finished tomorrow. The Others series is my second favorite from Bishop, preceded by the Black Jewels world. If you're looking for a new female fantasy author to read I highly recommend Bishop, starting with The Black Jewels Trilogy: Daughter of the Blood, Heir to the Shadows, Queen of the Darkness.

message 44: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 21 comments I just finished The Girl On The Train which covers thus category. It was an engrossing page - turner.

message 45: by Sarah (last edited Mar 08, 2015 07:12PM) (new)

Sarah I read As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust by Alan Bradley. I really enjoyed it, but now I'm sad that I'm all caught up on the Flavia de Luce series.

message 46: by Mirabai (new)

Mirabai | 10 comments I already have a copy of Punk Rock Blitzkrieg: My Life as a Ramone Punk Rock Blitzkrieg My Life as a Ramone by Marky Ramone that was included in a screening of the classic film Rock & Roll High School. After the film, the surprisingly engaging Marky Ramone spoke, so my hopes are high that the book will be equally as fun.

message 47: by Kristin (new)

Kristin Stine | 1 comments Just bought a copy of Find Me! So excited.

message 48: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Groves | 67 comments I read Kelly Link's "Get in Trouble." It's gotten rave reviews, but while I liked it, I felt it didn't live up to all the hoopla. I think I've read other story collections she's written and knew that they would be very original, so it wasn't her style or subjects that bothered me. I just wasn't as impressed overall, although of course I liked some stories better than others, as is typical of story collections.

message 49: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 3 comments I took this task to mean a book published in the last year....so I chose "Year of No Sugar" by Eve O. Schaub.

message 50: by Mary Sue (new)

Mary Sue | 61 comments I received At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen by Sara Gruen as a Goodreads First Reads Giveaway. I absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend it!
