2014 books that I've bought but not yet read are

- Wonder of All Things
- Girl with all the Gifts
- Queen of the Tearling
- a few other new gems I found at book outlet.

So it'll have to be one of those for me.

I'm going to consider it means 2015 and I am going to hold off til later in the year to pick this one! Maybe I will save this as my final challenge.

Doesn't Ishiguro have a new book out this year?

I'm going to read one book for each task instead of one book that covers three or four different tasks. Expand my horizons a little bit...

I will probably save this category for last so I have time to study the 2015 landscape first.

I plan on reading a book from this year. Brown Girl Dreaming or Liesmith.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of All The Bright Places at the ALA conference last summer. I read it right away. It was amazing!! Highly recommend it! It's being released on January 6th.

I'm super excited for Gail Carriger's new book Prudence coming out in March so I'll definitely be reading that for this task. Maybe more, we'll see what all I pick up this year.

I am excited for The Wolf Border which is due to be published this year, since I love, love, love Sarah Hall so I may go with that one.

Code Talker will probably be my choice. My husband is reading it and enjoying it right now.

I'm planning to read Martin Short's "I Must Say" for this one

I'm hoping to read Peace Talks or The Aeronaut's Windglass. Both books by Jim Butcher

I'm planning to read Lois Lane: Fallout -- I've been excited for this since it was announced!

Recently finished As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust by Alan Bradley, the latest in the Flavia de Luce series, release date 1/6/2015.

I'm going to wait for something as yet unknown that will appear in 2015!

Based on a recommendation I'm going with The Girl on the Trainbut I'll have to wait for it.

I'm going for Descent because I have heard so many wonderful things about it.

Descent is on my list also!

I think I'll do both a book from 2014 and 2015 for this task. Just because I've already read a 2014 book and there'll be plenty time to pick a 2015 book.

I just finished my first book for the challenge, Vanessa and Her Sister by Priya Parmar. It's historical fiction about Virginia Woolf and her sister, painter Vanessa Fry.

I'm counting it as 2015 because I've already read a few 2014 books.

This is obscure, but one of my favorite bloggers (Leah Libresco) has a book coming out in 2015. I've preordered it on Amazon, so I will be reading that for sure!

At least one other of my favorite bloggers ALSO has a book coming out....and I am psyched for Kazuo Ishiguro coming out with a new book because Remains of the Day is one of my all-time favorites.

Holy Cow! Started Paula Hawkins' The Girl on the Train last night and finished it in one sitting at 0730 this morning.

...was just a wee nervous having a glass of wine with dinner this evening...

For myself, I'm counting it as 2015. The Just City by Jo Walton looks interesting to me, but I may hold off on this task until later in the year.

I was waiting to hear about something that struck my fancy and The Girl on the Train did the trick. :-) The Kindle book was $11.99 then I noticed it was about $6 the other day and snatched it up. Now today it's $9.09. Weird!

I've been checking the Kindle Bestseller list every day. If there's a good deal on a popular book, it will appear there.

Checked this off with "Fairest" book 4 of the Lunar Chronicles. It would also work as a sci-fi but I am trying not to double up. I will probably read a lot more books published this year. This one is just the first.

I'm reading A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler for this task. I'm about half way through it and enjoying it, but I'm an Anne Tyler fan. Don't know if she is for everyone. I enjoy her quiet quirkiness.

2015-"Get in Trouble"-Kelly Link-fairy tales for grown -ups.

I've just read Hausfrau which I got as an ARC from Netgalley. Published in March I think. Really liked it, but I'd steer clear if you aren't keen on reading about psychoanalysis, marriage & adultery, & (infrequent) sex scenes.

I finished All the Light We Cannot See. Beautiful story and sentences.

I got lucky on this one. I got an ARC of Rodin's Lover from First to Read and didn't get around to reading it til January :-)

Finished The Girl on the Train for this task.

I plan on reading "The Sellout" by Paul Beatty, comes out next week!

Just finished for this task. It was delightful. I have had the opportunity to meet Sarah Addison Allen at two book signings and she is as delightful as her books are. I love it when that happens :)

Reading Anne Bishop's Vision in Silver. I've been waiting a year for this book and just got it today and it will be finished tomorrow. The Others series is my second favorite from Bishop, preceded by the Black Jewels world. If you're looking for a new female fantasy author to read I highly recommend Bishop, starting with The Black Jewels Trilogy: Daughter of the Blood, Heir to the Shadows, Queen of the Darkness.

I just finished The Girl On The Train which covers thus category. It was an engrossing page - turner.

I read As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust by Alan Bradley. I really enjoyed it, but now I'm sad that I'm all caught up on the Flavia de Luce series.

I already have a copy of Punk Rock Blitzkrieg: My Life as a Ramone that was included in a screening of the classic film Rock & Roll High School. After the film, the surprisingly engaging Marky Ramone spoke, so my hopes are high that the book will be equally as fun.

Just bought a copy of Find Me! So excited.

I read Kelly Link's "Get in Trouble." It's gotten rave reviews, but while I liked it, I felt it didn't live up to all the hoopla. I think I've read other story collections she's written and knew that they would be very original, so it wasn't her style or subjects that bothered me. I just wasn't as impressed overall, although of course I liked some stories better than others, as is typical of story collections.

I took this task to mean a book published in the last year....so I chose "Year of No Sugar" by Eve O. Schaub.

I received by Sara Gruen as a Goodreads First Reads Giveaway. I absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend it!
