Just thought I'd check on everyone and see how you're doing? Are you still working? Staying at home? Taking things one day at a time?

Bethany | 123 comments Transitioning to teaching from home, which is requiring a lot of crash course technology learning. Today I learned about Zoom and Flipgrid, so we'll see how this goes.
Honestly, I've been a bit stressed out with all the uncertainty. Not knowing what to expect is giving me a lot of anxiety. Whenever my anxiety gets high I typically avoid reading and bury myself in my phone or tv because it's easier to not think.
I think I'm the most bummed that I had to cancel my son's 1st birthday party on Saturday. I know he won't remember, but I wanted a big celebration to show how happy he makes me, and how I'm so glad he's here. He's the best!
I don't know. I'm trying to stay positive. We're stocked up. I ordered a bread machine, so I'll get to learn how to make bread. Little man is blowing bubbles at me and "singing. "
What a cutie!

Parker | 61 comments Husband is on a two week vacation (he's 77, so he's in the vulnerable age range. He's in better shape than most 77 year olds -- works in a very demanding job full time). It's been a day, and we're already at each other's throats, probably because of the other stuff that's been going on.

We've had a spate of really weird vandalism lately: on Sunday night, someone stole our license plate, backing and all. Got a new one Tuesday. Tuesday night, someone stole the new one and replaced it with the old one. Got a new one today. We're now backing the car all the way to the garage.

Worst news of all is that we're going to have to euthanise our boy tomorrow. He did eat tonight, but he can't walk at all. He collapsed late this afternoon. He's had arthritis and hip dysplasia since we've had him. I talked to his vet, and she agrees.

Sorry to hear about your pup. We had to let go of our Husky this year and it was so hard, she was 13. I'm sure your boy was loved and happy.

I read somewhere if you are stuck at home with your spouse (as I am also), create an imaginary person that you can blame things on, might lighten things up a bit. I don't know if you read the same books, but we've decided to read all of the Clive Cussler books my husband has collected (about 23), so far my husband is ahead by three.

Parker | 61 comments Well. My boy Lars made a miraculous recovery. He is back to his normal self this morning (we were fully expecting him to be at death's door).

We're much better today. I think it was stress😀

Thank you for posting this thread Bridget! I was going to do something similar, but I've been so busy.

I've been working from home all week, and have been really busy with work stuff. (I can't complain about that, since I'm lucky enough to have a job where I *can* work from home, and I work for a company that's big enough that we can probably get through this thing and keep going.)

I had hoped to relax a bit yesterday, but that turned into a pretty hectic day too. I did manage to finally finish Gone with the Wind yesterday. I might start White Teeth today. I think I have time to actually relax and do some reading today, before diving back in to work on Monday.
