My rule of thumb is if the genre is in the first 3 listed on Goodreads, I'll consider it in that category.

Kathy I finished Station Eleven last night for the Science Fiction category. While the setting is post-apocalyptic and in the future, I think the story is really more literary fiction then science fiction. Good story!
