It was good. It was nice to see all the guests and Stewart singing together.
I will miss the show, but knowing that Colbert will be on tv again soon makes it better.

Sorry if I was confusing. I was *hoping* they were saying that. I REALLY wanted his leaving to just be a joke, and rather than wait those two minutes to watch the finale, I was hoping Twitter would tell me it was all a joke and I wouldn't have to wait until 11:31 to find out it was a joke. But, obviously, no such luck.

The singing was definitely sweet, but that was when I started tearing up. I figured (Well, I *hoped*) Jon would make an appearance, but when I realized that appearance was to sing with Stephen, I got a little misty! Awww, our boys are singing goodbye!
I have to keep reminding myself that Stephen *is* coming back. But it's not in the same form, so it won't be quite the same. I still don't know what to expect from his talk show, but since it won't be "Stephen Colbert," it's still like we said goodbye to someone we'll never see again.

oh, I see. I felt the same way in the beginning, before it was announced that Wilmore was going to replace him.

True, the character will be missed.

oh, that makes it more moving.
I definitely teared up and was "talking" on Facebook immediately before and after, but allowed for 31 minutes of silence between 11:31 and 12:02.
And I've been "addicted" to anything Stephen all weekend. (Except for a little time allowed for Serial.)

At 11:29 p.m., I honestly considered checking Twitter or other news sources online to see if East Coasters (I'm on the West coast, so lots of people would be talking already) were online saying that Stephen's "leaving" was just a hoax. But then I had a rational talk with myself that the "hoax" would have to include Comedy Central, Letterman, and CBS, and probably they wouldn't go *that* far just to tease us. So I came to terms with reality and sat down to watch the final show. *sniffle*
