SarahKat | 6227 comments This thread is to discuss Storm of Locusts, the second book in the The Sixth World Series by Rebecca Roanhorse.

Pages: 313 pages

Length: 1 Month (April)

Participants: Joanna, Ruthie, Lindsay

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!

Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.

Happy Buddy Reading!

Feel like this one had a more dynamic start than the first book!

I really liked how (view spoiler)

Lots of new characters mostly minor characters are being added and the world-building is increasing! I'm liking it and looking forward to where the series goes because goodreads is showing so far it will be 4 books. It doesn't say yet when the third one will be published.

Jodi (jari-chan) Somewhere in Chapter 21

I'm surprised to like volume 2 more than the first book. I think Ben gives the story a new turn, than only the love interest couple. Also, to me she's an interesting character. Well, all in all the characters are better written than before.
The story line has more drive and I'm more keep on reading than in volume 1.

Usually, a second book in a series is often weaker than the first one. This is not the case here. At least not to me.

Ruthie (ruthieram_reads) | 985 comments I totally agree! I also like Ben and I also think this one is stronger than the first book, more enjoyable, more interesting. Where I'm at the book just took an interesting turn and as I'm close to the end I'm really wondering how it's going to end and what will happen in the next one. Goodreads doesn't say when the next one is going to come out and there is no title so I'm worried that we may have to wait awhile ahhhh!!!

Jodi (jari-chan) I'm also nearing the end of the book and I'm really looking forward to the showdown.
Awww, if there isn't even a title yet, then we sure have to wait a little. To bad... But I hope that it's going to be even better and that it's worth the waiting!

Jodi (jari-chan) I finished the book today and wow! it was so much better than the first one! I really enjoyed it and everything I sort of disliked about the first volume was done better by the author now. She sure put a lot of work in her writing.

Ruthie (ruthieram_reads) | 985 comments Yay! Joanna! I finished it too and I totally agree and can't believe we have to wait an unknown amount of time for the next one. I loved the final showdown it was large scale but still easy to picture and understand.

Jodi (jari-chan) I don't mind the waiting as long as she doesn't drop in quality and I really hope that that's not going to happen!
