Hello guys,

We are here for you, always! So go ahead and voice out your thoughts if you feel like you need someone to talk to.

For starters, let us all share how are we trying to cope with the stay-at-home situation - what things are you doing? What are your planning to cook/create? And how do you plan to utilise your time?

Suggestions are welcome and if you have links for free online resources and those are welcome too!

Stay connected and stay strong!

I am definitely doing alot more cooking at home now. My husband is working from home, so I'm making his lunches as well as my own. (He usually bought food at restaurants near his workplace for his lunch.)

It's been a bit challenging getting ingredients at the grocery store, but shelves are better stocked now than at the beginning of the quarrantine. I kind of play a little game, trying to come up with new recipes using the items that are more plentiful at the grocery store. We definitely aren't starving, and are probaly eating meals of a greater variety than we did pre-quarrantine.

Wow, that is great, Cheryl and something we all can learn from you!
I love cooking and doing a lot of it since our lockdown started from Sunday. I am also planning to search for new recipies and utilise this time to cook new and interesting items. I will definitely.implement your idea about using the ingredients that are easily available!

I am mostly trying to figure out a better way of decluttering. Marie Kondo is a great leader to follow when it comes to decluttering and organising a house so I am following her. The only challenge is my back. I had spine surgery last month and I can't bend, neither can I life anything more than a kg nor can I walk more than a kilometer, so it becomes a challenge as most of the work for it will fall on my husband. Lol. So I am just trying to cook his favourite food and bribing him into doing it for me ;-)

It’s always good to have a pile of books around the house. They sure come in handy during times like this.

I like Columbo, too. He’s kind of comforting.

I'm a big-time anti-social, so I have been distancing myself socially since forever! Though I do go out once a week (very much like you, Dagny.) In this trip, My husband, Vishal and I watch 2 movies back to back followed by a nice lunch and coffee and then dinner.
I don't much miss going out to eat as I started my new diet two months ago and have been on mostly home-cooked meals since then, so the only thing I miss is the movie-ritual!!

I have noticed a positive change in my health from not going out to eat and from adding more fruits and vegetables in my meals. Sometimes meat has been hard to get in my local grocery stores, so I use less meat per meal and add more vegetables and fruit to the meal to feel full. I think we feel healthier and have more energy from doing this, plus have lost a little excess weight in the process. This is something I intend to continue after the quarantine is over.

For me it's visiting the library..."

Yes, I also miss the library. I miss going to the thrift stores, too, where I have found used books for very little money and have discovered some great older books. However my stack of books at home is nowhere close to being depleted, so I can tough it out for a a while longer.
